Okay, so both these things happened to me a while ago, and I thought I'd post about it, since, in both cases it seems random and unlikely, but true.
1. I carpool up to school with another family, because it isn't close enough to walk. So, I'm just sitting in the backseat (The other girl, and her father are in the front), and I'm listening to There is a Light that Never Goes Out. We are in this tiny, shitty Toyota, on a big highway, with trucks next to us, and as I'm listening to the line "If a ten ton truck kills the both of us" this truck in the next lane swerves in, and came really close to hitting us. For a second I thought it was going to, and I was noting the irony of dying while that line is playing.
2. I had spent a great day, with others, shopping in the nearest big city to me, over Victoria Day Weekend, and we were driving back in the dark. I had just purchased the new Feist album, and we were listening to it. It felt magical; the album, and the perfect day, and then, as the song hit the instrumental break, fireworks started going off in the background. (I guess they must have been for Victoria Day, but I didn't realize that at the time, and they just seemed magical and random). They kept going, all the way through the instrumental break, and finshed just as it did, like it had been planned, even though it hadn't been. The weirdest part of this: No-one else in the car had noticed them. They had all been looking in other directions.
