Randomness
A collection of my poems, stories, and stuff
blah
not much to write about don't really have any new poems too busy with other school crap
so here is soem school crap about politicians!!

Some times it feels politicians talk about everything except what we want to hear. They go on and on about gay marriage when the real issues are the war in Iraq or health care. So what should politicians be focused on? There are hundreds of issues but the more prominent issues are the war in Iraq, health care, social security, illegal immigration and global warming.

The number one issue every politician avoids like the plague is the war in Iraq. The fact of the matter is we need a solution. At the very least a time table to get out. A bill was just passed but will that be enough or does more need to be done. This is a huge issue that affects soldiers, their families, the Middle East and the entire world. We started this war and now we need to find a way to end it.

Another major issue is health care. It has been a big topic for a while but with no definite solution. Something needs to happen to make health care affordable and practical. Whether that solution is national or made by the state something needs to be done. Social security is also a problem. Several suggestions have been made to fix social security however none of them have seemed to fix the problem yet. Social security has helped support millions over the years and many people have put money into social security expected their fair share.

Speaking of fairness, should illegal immigrants be allowed to stay? This issue has been around for a very long time and now that we are more and more weary about who could sneak into our country, it has become a hot topic. Laws need to be passed and enforced about whether they should stay or leave. When they send a couple hundred people home as a show of action nothing is really being done. Global warming is also an issue that nothing is being done about. If the national government does not want to face global warming then the states should. The United States is a major contributor to green house gases and we are one of few who are doing nothing about it.

In the end, politicians need to stop worming their way out of questions and talk about the issues that need to be dealt with. No more shows or proposals that never happen but real solutions to end the war, to fixing health care and social security. They need to take definitive action taken against illegal immigration and action to help stop global warming. That’s what politicians need to focus on.
