The story of Shade's life is a tragic story of love and greed. Back when Shade was alive he was a with a bounty hunter. He had it all money, power and a beautiful girlfriend. He was a famed Demon hunter who was know for his skill with the sword. He was a master of the Sacred Cloud Style. He also had the talent of earth energy gradient. He was a mutant, that was how he could use geokinesis, but his greatest skill was his chi usage. He could see chi in other people and even interact with it.

Shade had a Girlfriend, she was also a bounty hunter. Skilled in the art twin daggers and stealth killing. She was the only person Shade was gentle around. She had brown hair and was shorter than he was, she was 5'10. She used wood gradient energy. She had been with Shade for years in travel and cared about him deeply but the only thing she loved more than Shade was money.

He was hired to kill some of Satan's sons and as many wives as possible. When he went to the underworld he found a ancient fallen god. This god promised Shade immortality for the right price. Shade jumped at the chance and made the deal. He had a tattoo put on his left arm. Afterwards he went on with his mission and slaughtered a third of the sons and their wives before the dukes and princes of hell came after him. He managed to wound Belberith before he escaped.
He escaped with his life but lost his right arm.

When he got back he was having a tender moment with his girlfriend. As a bunch of ]Belberith's followers jumped him. He managed to fend off most of the demon before his girlfriend slashed him across the face, which was how he got the scar. She used her power over wood to bind him with vines and sap his energy. Belberith appeared and turned herself into a weapon and went flying through Shade mortally wounding him. The last thing Shade saw and heard was his girlfriend being handed twice his bounty from a demon with no right arm and a gash on his back. Smiling as she kissed Shade on the forehead as his eyes fog over.

When everybody left his tattoo glowed and began to cover his whole body. He heard a voice from the god and found out it was Baal, the god who challenged Yahweh and lost.The mark revived Shade but he came back as a immortal with special powers, or an old one with the power over the void and heightened chi. Unfortunately, his right arm was still missing. Before he could go hunt and kill his former girlfriend the death appeared before him. He offered to give him power over death and his right arm back if he chose to follow him. He was infused with the powers of death and got a black shinigami's arm with gold claws. The claw could separate out a persons soul and absorb it. From then on he became a reaper for a job. The grim reaper then gave him a black 5ft claymore with a V-shaped hilt that the blade went right into and it had Dark's soul trapped in it. It was made from a fallen gods bones. It was named the 'Soul Shattering Blade' It could extend into a whip blade.and shift its forms His sword could absorb dead souls. He was still able to tap into his sword style.

He then hunted down his girlfriend and killed her and ate her soul along with all the other bounty hunters in the bar and all the people. He woke up the next morning soaked in blood cradling severed head of his now dead girlfriend. At that moment, he realized that was his first reaping. To his sorrow he realized he had to serve death and reap souls for all eternity, he was cursed never to love again. He left there and roamed the earth for tens of thousands of years. His powers grew as he learned to not just use his human energy but rely on the new powers. Mastery of the arcane arts came through years of using it, he reached the rank of Archmage.
