Anyone who knows me well enough knows that I'm a HUGE fan of Christina Aguilera. So, that when someone goes off on a rage saying she's a skank (and not much else, it makes me slightly sick. A random Christina thread was made in the music forum (as she does not have her own official thread, and it doesn't look like she'll have one in the future), asking about posters' favorite Christina Aguilera songs (if any). Yeah, there was the odd "I don't really like Christina" comment, and of course those people are just closed-minded jocks so we'll ignore them.
Then there was the skank comment, like, "Nahhh. She's a skank." Our dear original poster replied by quoting Christina's song "Still Dirrty," to which the poster replied something about "keeping her skin for someone special, not national TV." Now, now, here's what set me off. She went on to say, "Listen to the lyrics. Nothing but skank."
Maybe this is what's called a first impression, and possibly another reason as why "Dirrty" was a poor choice for a first single from her second album. However, judging an artist based on what they say in one song is ******** retarded.
I bet you'll never guess who did these songs:
"And when I'm about to fall/somehow you're always waiting with open arms to catch me"
"Would you tell me I was wrong? Would you help me understand? Are you looking down upon me? Are you proud of who I am?"
"Don't hold back and always know/all the answers, they will unfold/what are you waiting for/spread your wings and soar"
Guess what? They're all by Christina Aguilera. Tell me how any of those lyrics are skanky, seriously. Sorry she doesn't wear enough clothes for you.
And why did no one complain that Gwen Stefani wore bikini tops and plaid pants to award shows, and when Christina shows up in a halter and skirt, the media goes ballistic? Really.
