She gazed up curiously at the male who stood in front of her. She could do nothing, but let that smile on her face slowly fall into a disappointed frown. There were hushed voices between the two. The males tone more fierce than the others, who's one voice was more gentle and inviting. A gentle laugh expelled from her tone she could do nothing more but wave her two blades around silently, the blood on them gently rolling to and fro along with her graceful movements. The other had lowered his own guard as well, and silently stared at the guards. The girl beside him started humming in a low, syrupy sweet tone.
The soldiers were paralyzed with fear. they could not move from their spot. The sight of their general, their second in command, both slaughtered before their eyes, and with such ease, it did not seem possible. shivering, some started to back up, swallowing down whatever courage they had left. Beads of sweat collected on their faces, the air heavy with death. One of the men, who sat upon his horse in the front lines, who stared right at the children in front of him, turned the reigns of his so that he was gazing right into the eyes of his comrades. biting his lip, any fear he head left began to melt away with the sun, slowly disappearing behind the clouds. His voice, though shaky, held a strength behind it, that made even the girl stop humming and look up from the shadows of her hood silently. The soldier started his speech “I-…..I know that we are all scared. I know it because even I am scared! But we have to fight them! They are nothing but mere children!” He yelled in a rising voice. The soldiers all looked at him, some still frightened, others taking his words to heart. “But we have to kill them! I am willing to die, if it means to honor the life of two of the bravest men I’ve ever known!” The soldiers began to whisper, but the sudden change in their mood actually made the strangers clutch their swords and step back, but only once.
“Good men! Now, lets take up our swords, and spill the same amount of blood they took from our own captain and second in command!”the man yelled with a sudden determination in his voice, raising his own katana and pointing it at the male, then lowering it towards the girl who was, it seemed to be, shaking. He smiled in triumph.”What is it little oni!? Are you scared, because now that we are all together, you cannot hope to-…”He stopped, hearing a sudden shriek of laughter, echoing through the night air. “What the hell….”He whispered, suddenly hearing the girl in front of him giggle gently, before it grew into a loud, resounding laugh that rolled along the hills.
“Enough! Kill them, kill them both now!” He called, the horses crying out as their backs were whipped and they charged forward. What happened next was almost to fast to keep track of. The sudden shriek of horses, their legs kicking around wildly in pain as deep gashes and cuts appears on the sides and back. The same maniacal laughter echoing around them. Bucking fiercely, the horses fell to the ground in pain, throwing off their riders or bringing them down with them. The men screamed in agony, others were trampled to death too swiftly for the pain to register. While all the while, the hooded figures stared on and the little girl continued laughing with a tone full of delight.
