It seems like I'm stuck in the stupid job conundrum, at least as far as trying to get a full-time teaching position. I've been out of college for...two and a half school years, now, and so far, I've been substitute teaching. Applying for jobs, getting a few interviews, and then more substitute teaching. Granted, I've gotten a few long-term teaching positions, but, those are still just sub jobs. I think they main reason I haven't been offered an actual teaching position, at least from what I've been told by those I've interviewed with, is my lack of teaching experience. And therein lies the problem - how can one get experience if you're never hired because of your lack of it?!?!??? Extremely frustrating. Especially when you consider that as more and more school years go by without me getting hired, I start to wonder if this is really the right thing for me, or if when I do finally get a teaching position, how effective I'll be. Which really sucks. 'Cause I've got more than enough self-doubt to start with. *sighs*
