A/N: This chapter actually jumps ahead a little, and it may not stay the 'real' chapter one; It might be changed once I develop more of the story plot.
Alexis, 14, is a Dj-in-training apprenticing under Ty, 20, one of the sucess stories of the previous year's Monster Massive in LA, and the foremost DJ in Seattle, Washington. Alexis specializes in Goa, Trance, and Alternative/Punk, while Ty's expertise lies in Hip-Hop, Reggaeton, Drum N' Bass, and anything that can be scratched. Ty uses two Technics record turntables, and Alexis uses one American Audio CD turntable, and one Pioneer CD turntable, and an inexpensive Denon mixer. Wow. Not very coordinated there, are we?

“That lousy sonovah-“
“Alexis, please calm down…”
Ty put his hand on Alexis’ shoulder. “Really, the guy didn’t mean to; the case was too heavy for him.”
Alexis squeezed her hands and relaxed them a few times. The airport security person who offered to help them lift their gear off the baggage carousel accidentally dropped the CD and record cases. Baggage Check is only lovely until someone breaks your stuff… Alexis thought, sighing.
“Next time, I’m getting cases with wheels, and I’m NOT checking them!”
While Alexis inspected the cases for serious damage, Ty collected the rest of their stuff as it came by; cardboard shipping boxes hiding their turntables and mixers, black felt coffins holding the lights and speakers, and aluminum trusses wrapped in packaging paper.
“Rule number – Umph! – One; “Ty set the last of the boxes on the cart. “If you’re gonna check your goodies, make sure it’s disguised. Never know which random baggage loader will steal your precious babies.”
“Amen, brother. Excuse me while I gore the old man…”
“Hold it.” Ty had to use both hands to keep Alexis from hurting someone.
“Come on, our ride’ll be here in about half an hour. Let’s get to the pick-up garage and hang out. It’ll take about that long to get there with this crap.” He walked at the front of the cart pulling, while Alexis pushed from behind.
“Jeezus… I thought you were exaggerating! This cart weighs a ton!”
“900 lbs, kiddo. Get used to it; we’ll be doing this again going home.”
All the way to the pick-up lot, Alexis and Ty kept getting double-takes from people. Pushing a large flatbed full of metal record and CD cases, shipping boxes and black felt coffins sure does attract a lot of attention.
After waiting a very short 5 minutes, a long, white, stretch limo pulled into the lot next to Alexis and Ty.
“That’s not our ride is it?” Alexis looked confused, Ty just smirked. A man got out of the drivers’ side and said, “Tarren Young?”
Ty stepped forward. “That’s me, sir.”
“No way. Your real name is Tarren Young?!... Well now that I think about it, I never knew your full name anyway…” Alexis’ expression changed from surprise to disappointment.
“I told your parents, of course, and I was going to announce myself with that name at the event; you would’ve found out eventually.” Ty began loading their gear into the trunk of the limo.
It took awhile, but when they were comfortably situated, the limo backed out of the lot, and pulled onto the freeway.
“I had a feeling this was coming; the limo, I mean. I played here on Halloween at the last Monster Massive. You know how big that one gets! Last year though, the event coordinator put out a huge hype, so the turnout was well over 16,000. Most of the DJs and artists who played went from nothing to everything in just a few days; I was lucky enough to even get us a spot!” Ty grinned. “This could be your big debut, so don’t screw anything up!”
I can’t decide weather to smack him or hug him.
