(Princely Training...)

For 5 years I endured some rather bizarre and harsh training. Normally, in the day I would accompany my father with the rest of my brothers for political presence, training under night conditions. Now, things were different. My disgrace in stalemating with a panther demon cub put me onto training full days at a time. My father would not even see me, I practically lived with my trainer, Gan Tuo. The 7 foot tall, muscular beast of a man never smiled, despite his love for violence. As still a boy I resisted a lot of his mannerisms, blindly wishing life could still be fun and reckless. Seems like father picked the right man to break me in. If I smiled or laughed or played around as boys do, I was locked in a cell next to a mentally sickened prisoner slave from one of our earlier eastern Durem conquests whose name was "Crazed" Kiwabare. He seemed like an average sailor type, strong build and rough exterior. However, there was a strange gleam in his eye, a dark tint if you will. Sometimes it seemed like violent fire would dance between his eyes. Later I would get a chance to inquire about him, no one knew his full story. He was a wanderer staying in an eastern village that was known for politically resisting my father's rule. Our Elite Guard quickly raided and destroyed the entire town. Kiwabare apparently was visiting family, or had some sort of ties to the place. He fought and killed 3 Elite Guard before being subdued. Even in chains he cursed us and yelled senseless lines, and that was before he earned the name "Crazed". Anytime I tried to approach the man about his life, I was backhanded or cursed at, whatever it took to lead to a fight. By the end of the day I would be bruised and scarred, and then my real training began.
