Anyone remember when Tousen owned Ishida, but we didn't see how? Remember how tousen called his shikais name and everything turned black and white? It can't have been his bankai (although it does look like he was gonna use his bankai) but he never actually said bankai and everything already turned black and white. This probably means the author was still deciding, what he should make his shikai and was also probably deciding whether to make his bankai, his shikai or something. He prob chose to go with shikai, seeing as how aizens shikai is almost the same thing but better. In the end tho, it seemed like he went and had a change of heart and made it tousens bankai. surprised
