WOOOHOOO!!!! I'm back from Alaska! And I've got pictures too. But I'll add those later.
Anyway, I'll give you a brief overview of each day.
Day 1: Airport Day. Basically, we were on planes the entire day. And I was tired.
Day 2: Sea Day. It was a normal day at sea. The comedians at night were great. So was the food.
Day 3: Sea Day. Same as day 2.
Day 4: We arrived in College Fjord, a beautiful area carved out by centuries of glacial erosion. There were a LOT of icebergs and glaciers, and it was a stunning view.
Day 5: We stopped in Skagway, a small town of 600 people, and took a train along the route of the Alaskan Gold Rush route, one known as White Pass. It was pretty cool, and the scenery was great, but what was really cool was that the train was a one-way train. So, when we reached the top, they hooked the Caboose to the front, and then, we all had to turn our chairs around. But what we did, was, you switched the cushion on the chair, flipping it in the opposite direction. It's impossible to explain in words how exciting it really was. But, truthfully, it may have been just the fact that I'm easily entertained.
Day 6: Juneau, Alaska, the capital of the nation's largest state. Here, we saw more glaciers. But get this! We saw BEARS!!! Which is probably not that exciting, but we caught them right during the Salmon Spawning season, and they were snatching salmon from a stream. There were two cubs, an adult female, and a juvenile. We also went to a Salmon Hatchery and had some caviar.
Day 7: We stopped in Ketchikan, Alaska's first city, and the Salmon Capital of the world. We hopped on a skiff and sailed out to sea, and went salmon fishing. I only caught two fish, but the ones I caught were GREAT. I caught a really big Pink salmon, and I also caught a Sockeye, which are considered to be the best. Isn't that great? We also visited a Totem Pole exhibit.
Day 8: Sea day. Not much to say here.
Day 9: Well, this isn't really a cruise day, but we disembarked at Vancouver, Canada. It was a really nice day, and we went to a Suspension Bridge famous for being Vancouver's first tourist attraction. It was really high up, and the view was nice. We also went inside a temperate rainforest.
Well, I have to go now. I'll add more later.
