I felt like bursting into tears. How could this be? I should have known they were related, they looked exactly alike!!!
"Botan's more like my best friend, though." Kazuki said. "But I had no idea he was on vacation. Especially in the fall!"
"Yeah..." i said softly. Botan and I were best friends, maybe even more than friends. But I didn't want to think of that. It was a horrible thought. We were just friends and only friends. But....
"Arisu!!!" I heard a familiar face say. Oh crap I thought. It was my best friend, Tina. She always made a big deal when I was with Botan. I wondered what she was thinking once I saw her eyes widened as she saw Kazuki and I together.
"OH. MY. GAWD." was what she said. she cleared her throat, then she said to Kazuki "Excuse us, please," and grabbed my wrist hard.
We were a bit farther than Kazuki, so he wouldn't hear our private conversation.
"Who is he?" Tina asked suspicious.
"No one!" I said too fast. crap.
"Arisu, as soon as Botan leaves, you all of a sudden find another guy?! Ugh, that's a bad image! It'll ruin your reputation in school, and you'll be known as "School Slut.""
There was a headache creeping into my brain. Ow. Then, I took a big inhale and exhale.
"Ok, first of all, Botan and I are not going out. I can be with anybody I want to be. And I barely know this guy, so you don't have to worry, ok? I have no intention of going out with Kazuki and never will." I sighed.
After I said this, I brought my attention to Kazuki, who was looking back at us, waiting for our private conversation to end. I smiled at him and he did the same. Then I realized Tina was staring, too.
"Kazuki..." she said softly. "That's his name, right?"
"Yeah...." I said slowly, wondering what she was thinking.
"He's hot!" she said, smiling at him. My eyes widened. And she called me the school slut!!
"So...if you don't want to go out with him, I can have him, right???" she said happily. I sighed and nodded my head.
"But you're not going to..." I said slowly. "...right?"
"Nah," she said, but I could feel that deep inside she was lying.
"C'mon!" Tina said. "I don't wanna be late for class!"
