At school last week, I've been planning more than drawing. And during that planning, I decided it was high time to perfect my planetary customs yupyup! I'll put more here than just holidays, but not everything. I'm not even going to ATTEMPT units of measure. I may be able to pull the rest of the stuff off, but not that. I would hardly know where to begin. Right then, holidays. I should probably explain the time stuff first. Shibbi is a planet I made up that revolves around a red dwarf (which is a type of sun). This planet is a bit closer to its sun than we are, so it's rather warm there. On top of that, it has an atmosphere thicker than ours. This means that it's warm and it's going to stay warm, dammit XDD! To save themselves from roasting, they sealed their lovely little oasis called Sactanury in an orange hemisphere. Think of the Simpsons Movie where they’re in a dome. But I thought of this way before I even knew there was going to be a Simsons Movie. If anything, they stole it from me XD. In Fahrenheit degrees, outside of the bubble, it’s 130 degrees in the day and it’s 40 degrees at night. Inside the bubble, it’s 85 degrees during the day and 76 at night. As for Celsius degrees, go grab a calculator and figure it out XDD. The Shibbian unit of degree is Insion, which I’m probably going to change later because it sounds really lame. According to that, it’s 100 degrees outside the bubble during the day, 0 at night, 50 inside the bubble during the day and 40 inside at night. Why am I calling it a bubble now? I guess I just don’t know what to call it XD. Anyways, Shibbi rotates very slowly, so there are only thirty days a year. Each Shibbian day is equivalent to a week and a half of our days. They get one day of light, then one day of dark. That’s a week and a half of night for us, which would be quite odd. A Shibbian minute is 100 seconds, a Shibbian hour is 100 minutes, and a Shibbian day is 100 hours. By Earth days, there are 347.5 days in a Shibbian year. Work and school revolve around a 20 hour period (That’s Shibbi hours). It lasts from 5 to 10 hours. School consists of 10 grades. Grade 5 and below go to school for five hours (8 and one third to us). Grade 6 and above go for 6 hours (10 to us), and there is no college. They just expect you to sort out your life by the time you’re 16. hehe... Bummer. I’m 17 and I’ve still got nothing sorted out. Boobalibuelbumbum. Just checking to see if anyone is reading this XDD! Anyways, work is usually 7-10 hours. 7 is our 11 and two thirds, 8 is 13 and one third, 9 is 15 and 10 is 16 and two thirds. LOL and that’s the first half of the day. Then bla. Err... I can get to the holidays now I suppose. I have both and Earth date and a Shibbian date on each, even though very few of them could be celebrated much on Earth XD and who would want to?
Guess what?? Now I don't feel like putting the holidays up. XDD! I'll put them up later for sure.
