O.K, well I changed my journal layout - and now I'm gonna copy and paste stuff from my bebo blog.

So I just went to see Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. It didn't disappoint as much as I thought it would, I must say. However, the things that disappointed most were kinda, very important. These were: Harry himself, Luna, Harry and Cho's relationship, Voldermort (!!!) and Sirius's death.

First, Harry. Daniel Radcliffe (and Emma Watson) had, for the last four movies been doing something very odd and getting worse! However, Daniel did improve in this movie and had some good moments. Still, he wasn't that good, and so much just doesn't work because he just looks to old now. And dressing him like Prince William! He was wearing tweed in the last scene for god's sake! And he wore high trowsers with a belt and stuff, it just looked odd.

Luna, well, I can see some good in her. But the character was all so samey. Kinda dull. Though I suppose I'm biased, because I don't like the actress. One, she isn't actually a proper actress. She's not even a wannbe actress (those that turn up at auditions, have had no practise, but wanna make it big.) She's a Harry Potter nerd blown out of control. Which is really annoying. Two, when she turned up at the audition, she told them "she was the right person for Luna, and if they didn't pick her, that was their problem, not hers, because they'd have made a mistake." Which doesn't make me think she's brilliantly nice.

Now, Harry and Cho's relationship. It started on the right foot. It finished on the right foot too, but they did very little actual walking. Yeah, it was cute way too much.

However, I think the biggest disappointment for me was Voldermort! He just...wasn't interesting. At all! And if Voldermort's no good, I see very little hope for the rest of the movies!

Meanwhile, Sirius's death was awful! It wasn't sad! At all! It's heartbreaking in the book. Though, the characters of Sirius and Lupin were both on the up. I didn't like them at all at first (the movie versions, I loved them in the books), but they're improving in this movie. Problem is, for Sirius, it's a bit late to start improving...he dies in this one!

On the other hand, this did do a better job of sticking to the plot than the last two. It was nice to see the Dursleys again, their development at the beginning of each book was always a high point for me. And I like the very mild hints they gave of a relationship between Ginny and Harry. Ginny came through for me, I have to say. She'd my favorite character in the books, but I was always worried about her in the movies. But that actress came through.

And I thought both Belatrix and Umbridge was absolutely fantastic! However, both Ron and Hagrid, though fantastic as ever, were cut down greatly. These are two of the best actors in the whole thing, and they gave them about three lines each!

They also cut two of the most important bits. After Harry sees into Snape's memory, they missed out the next bit where he talks to Sirius and Lupin about it. And now Sirius is dead! So that's going to be permanently left hanging. I mean, we've just seen James being a complete jerk, how can you just leave that?!

They also only had about a tenth of the full explanation about the prophecy. Nothing about how it was Tralawny who prophecy, nor about how it could have been Neville. They are gonna be so screwed if it turns out it was Neville all along in the last book (which I am hoping will happen.)

So, it had some very good points, and was good to watch, but it's great failings really let it down.

I had a really depressing dream last night, about Harry Potter. I was a studant and stuff, and it as all rather random, and the TARDIS was there was was even BIGGER on the inside than normal. What was depressing was that we had the whole Barty-has-his-sole-sucked-out bit, and I saw him after that. but at the same time, we were actors, and I knew none of it was real, so it wasn't heart breaking but it was depressing.

Also, questing for a 1000 arties is hard! I've worked out if I can get 17 pieces a day I'll be done by the end of the Summer. I managed it today, now I just had god know how many left!
