Reflections (A poem)
Reflections

A reflection in the glass imparts upon her specs of past
Tearing up her soul inside, leaving a hole so vast
The tear drops felt upon the skin leave her shivering with cold
At last warmth envelopes her as the mind starts to unfold

A memory of painful times flashing through her brain
Rocking her entire body like an unrestricted pain
The father that she did once know who abused his only right
She lay upon the bed so he could take her every night
As protector of her body and soul she did not understand
Why did father pick her to be his desecrated land

But nightmares are not forever, each and every has an end
Sixteen years to late to change, to help her wounds to mend
A frail package she is now empty to the core
Raging inside her body is a continental war

Emotions, anger, depression, fury, building in her chest
Moving through her very soul, she is now possessed
Attack the mind to make some sense of what all she must do
She must bring back to him the pain he wrought from his strange taboo

Lightning strikes, the shadows move, the kitchen window glares
A silent form moves through the house wholly unawares
On the couch her forsaken father sits laconically on his throne
His mind is no longer with him it’s strewn about his home
