Officially Obsessed Pt. 1
Have you ever had those times that you've heard of something, liked it for a little bit, but then you got out of it and moved onto something else?

Well, that was the case with me and a certain video game series, but now, thanks to another friend, I am now truely obsessed with it.

The series was Silent Hill.

----

Okay, here's how it went. A long time ago, me and my cousin were bored and we went to Blockbuster, she picked up a game called Silent Hill for the PS1. We looked and saw it was like, horror and stuff, and we were like "What the hey?" and rented it. She got advice from her dad, who's a big Movie and Video Game Guru that the best thing to do with games like Silent, was to play it in pure darkness with surround sound. And so we did.

It scared the crap out of us.

We started playing it about 9 p.m. and stopped playing at 1 a.m. I'm pretty sure she was just about to pee herself. We were screaming, bashing in a few monsters, in which I now know were Grey Children, and basically scaring the crap out of ourselves. So we turned it off and actually never played it again.

I was 7, she was 8.

----

Then, about 4 years ago. I was watching T.V. and I saw an add for Silent Hill 3. Remembering the just-about traumatization I recieved with my cousin. I called her and demanded we play it together when I return to my hometown. This was when I moved to Florida, she was still in Indiana. I was to be returning to Indy the next week for Vaca anyway, so it was actually a good set-up.

I was still abit, um, immature and easily scared back them. But I actually enjoyed being scared for some odd reason. It was fun.

When I went back to Indy, me, my mom and my stepdad were staying at my Gramma's house, from Mom's side of the family, and I got a phone call from my real dad, asking if I wanted to come over there for a day or two. I agreed and I went to Dad's. I wanted my cousin to come too, so we called her house and she said she can come too. I told her to bring the PS2.

So after she came, we were happy to see each other. We talked, we watched a movie while threw popcorn at each other and got yelled at from Dad, and then we got bored. So I asked if she brought her PS2 and she said yes. You can say I just about whooped, and I begged Dad to take us to a nearby Video Game store, while she just stared at me like, "...WTH?"

So we went to the store and the had Silent Hill 3 there, so I grabbed it and asked dad to pay for it. I didn't have any money on me. When my cousin looked at the ox and saw the title, she was like, "Oh cool, I remember the first one." And then we proceeded to tease each other over how scared we got. This time Dad was the one who gave us the look of, "WTH?"

So we got home, plugged in the PS2, and started up the game. As we watched the opening, there was this girl shown alot. She looked at the cover and told me that was the Main Character, Heather. I was like, "Oh." Then we kept on seeing these wierd, twitchy and deformed things and our faces were clearly like, "WTF?" Then came a spooky Merry-Go-Round. That got me. I was like, "Oooh. I wanna see that place!" With a face that looked like I was on crack or somethin' and she looked at me funny again.

The reason I remember this so clearly, is because Dad was taping us for some reason. He likes doing that. Taking pictures, making little home videos, that was his thing. Yep. Gave me a copy, too.

Oh wait, where was I? Oh yeah. Duh.

So we started playing, with the girl in some kind of freaky, bizzare place. Neither of us knew what it was. The next thing we knew, there was a rabbit with blood around it's mouth lying on a bench. I screamed at the top of my lungs, she shouted, "OH SWEET! CANNIBLE IN A BUNNY SUIT!" So then we sat there and stared at it for a bit. I was scared, and she decided to move in closer and try to hit it, to see if it'll do anything. It didn't do nothing, so we decided to move on, only to be killed by a freaky dog thing with a split head. We both stared at the screen with a face like, "O_O;;;"

So we started over and played again. All night. In pure darkness. With Surround Sound. And in a basement no less.

Screams of terror and whoops of someone yelling "AWESOME," all night followed.

Pt. 2 coming soon.

LOL. Something similar happened to me and my friend. With House of the Dead 2. We weren't 7 though, we were 10... and pretty immature back then.
