Two Worlds
As I lay here, your face haunts me
Colors so dark, indescribable
Your eyes, alluring yet deceptive
Cunning, brilliant and fierce
But I know I cannot love you
You were only a shadow
A faded part that I cannot replace
Yet do not want to linger on it
So many memories I have of you
The cruelty you suffered
I hope that pain vanishes
Oh sweet, horrid monster
I'm sorry I can no longer hold on to that image
The one you thought I was
I look into the mirror one last time
To say goodbye to the old
And welcome the new
