when i wanna write so stop asking
where i come from poem
here's a little poem that i wrote for school, and i got a good grade for it, so here it is:
"WHERE I'M FROM" POEM
I am from clouds and sun,
Rain and tall trees, of many varieties.
I am from many houses, and many yards,
Plants and animals changing from place to place,
changing as i go and grow.
I'm from cold winters,
and blistering summers.
Of raining autumns, and blossoming,
flowering springs.
I am from many places, connected be friends
All over the world, though not far from where
I am now.
I am from rumbling, earth-quaking trains,
And zooming, honking cars, with peace in between.
To the helping of friends, whenever I can.
I am from swimming pools to crosses,
From wetness to singing
And also into the company of others, older than I.
I am from the fresh baked chocolate-chip cookies
And the sweet sharp taste of wild onoins,
That taste like dirt and under-ground sweetness.
I'm from pictures from home and outside,
From the familiar smell of my room and house,
I am from the large oak, and the old sequoia,
Whose half-moon hole i remember peeking over the power lines.
I am from old stories and bed-time music,
From "look before you leaps", and of course, I never really have
I'm from running into things, and not watching where I'm going
I am from many places, though same times,
Watching the sun sink behind the hills.
I'm from all of these things, and yet, I'm still living.
