A really short story about Jessie and Jack |

A girl laughed.
“Jessie!” a boy yelled.
“What do you want, Jack?” the girl yelled.
The music that was in the nightclub thrummed loudly. It seemed as if it went in one ear and out the other.
“Let’s get out of here!” He yelled, right next to her, trying to have his voice heard over the extremely loud noise called music.
“Oi! Why, the hell, do you want to get out of here?!!” Jessie yelled back.
“I don’t know, but I just suddenly got a bad feeling…” Jack said.
“How about a few more minutes, this is one of my absolute favorites!” She yelled, causing her voice to crack and squeak.
“NO JESSIE, NOW!” He yelled louder than she had ever heard someone yell, even over the bass filled tones.
He immediately grabbed her hand and ripped her from the crowd, causing her to stumble and scream.
They burst through the doors and she immediately began to question him.
“Jack, what do you think you’re doing, just barging in there and pulling me out?”
He didn’t say a word, he just pulled her into the nearby alley way and ducked behind a dumpster.
Then, all of a sudden, the place blew up!
“Oh, s**t!” screamed Jessie as Jack was holding and covering his ears. “What, the hell, was that?” Jessie said.
“I told you something bad was going to happen!” Jack said.
“You’re right, Jack. I’m sorry.” She said.
“It’s all right. Let’s get home. I’ll walk you.” Jack said, quietly.
As soon as the bricks, and other construction items, stopped flying, then he took her hand and silently walked her out of the alley.
They walked in a silence for a while before Jessie interrupted it.
“I really am sorry that I didn’t believe you...and...” She paused.
“It’s fine.” He smiled gently.
“Also, thank you, Jack. I mean it.” Jessie said, smiling back.
“You’re welcome. I’m glad I did it.”
They stopped in front of her house, but before she could open her door, Jack grabbed her hand and pulled her off the step...
