~HOW NOT TO GOD MOD~ (read!!!)
first we will start with the basics. Lesson one: begining stances.

Rule one of this lesson: BE SPECIFIC
how you start off effects the ENTIRE battle.
be sure to include:
- distance away from the enemy
-where your hands and feet are placed
-what is in each hand and where they are
-[removed](remember others are watching you might as well make them one heck of a show)
-any movement that might help everyone understand your fighting style better
Alright since you have passed rule number one we shall move on...
Rule number two is: BE REALISTIC
i can't tell you how many letters i get with bad rping. the entrance exams are given for this reason and i am sorry for those of you i have cut but you really need to take this into account.
ex : -*person x lunges at lord inuyasha with his arms out and quickly round kicks him tripping him to the floor*

this is the type of stuff i would expect from low level or new roleplayers. the actions just don't go together and it is simply unatural.

Lesson two: THE BATTLE

Rule number one: DECIDE ON AN END
an end is how you would like the battle victor to be decided. we do this because we don't want our fighters to kill each other just because they were training and didn't know when to stop. There is to the hit, injury, blood, death, and to the pain ( for all of you who have watched The Princess Bride you know what i am talking about) the first one to reach the goal in the duel is declared the "winner". there are a number of ways you can do this. most people decide this in pms to keep the guild clean of clutter.

Rule number two: KEEP TO RANK AND STATS
here at The Lords of the Rising Sun we have strict rules about rank. they are there for a reason and we expect them to be enforced. A new member CAN NOT just spar with a warrior or solider and beat him to a bloody pulp. This IS another way "GODMOD" and WILL be punished. we also have Rexol's Notebook http://bildeau.gaiaonline.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2745067 this is where members are to place their stats, bios, and history. your stats can increase with promotions but that will come later. since both of these volunteers are new they have the same rank. also since they are new they do not have their stats posted yet so we shall move right on.....

Rule number three: GIVE THE OTHER PERSON A CHANCE TO RESPOND
as samurai we fight fair and with honor. we are NOT like the ninja and give no warning. during a fight remember you take turns posting. No double posting IC during a fight. you must always give a person to react to an attack. a good way to help is by using words such as attempts, towards, aiming for, etc.

now the next rule is very important so here it is
Rule number four: BE SPECIFIC
i can not stress that enough. the main problem during spars and battles is that a person does not describe their movements enough. remember as rpers we create images in our minds to create and visualize this world. we NEED details.

on to Rule number five: BE REALITSIC
remember i have let you into the guild because you show promise and you have proven to me through the entrance tests that you are intellegent enough to know what the heck is possible. hanzou can you do a backfilp off of your right leg and left and kento take off on you right and land on your right. (please not e for those who do not understand if you take off and land on the same foot you will fall and lose your center of gravity)
*seeing that it is early morning Makitsu decides that is time to conclude this lesson* thank you

A comment that I will add is one for people who are just starting to RP and want to know simply and most effectivly if they have made a god moding character, it can be simply described in one question...
"Is your characters skill, abbilities, strengths, and just all around power, stronger or weaker than your own RPing skills?"
THe most simple way to find out if your character is to powerfull foryou to be allowed to control (according to the rules of RPing) all depends on how good of an RPer you honestly are... and if anyone comes to me honestly wanting to know I will give a strait unbiast opinion...
