"Claudin! No, come back!" I called, chasing after the cute little brown-and-white dog that was suddenly chasing after a car from the highway beside of us. We'd decided to have a picnic a little away from our parents' house, up on the tall hil behind me. Though, it was very near the highway. Suddenly, it was as though I were in an out-of-body experience. I could see myself, with my bobbed, orange hair and green eyes, watching my little Claudin run right infront of the large tractor-trailer that was tumbling down the road. The man hocked his horn as he crushed My Little Claudin's body, splashing blood everywhere. I was close to the road, and a little bit of red splashed on my green shirt and hit the tops of my white shoes, though, I didn't notice. All I noticed was that blood was surrounfding Claudin in the road, and he was obviously in pain. Or sleeping, maybe. My mind bet on sleeping, because his eyes were shut, and he wasn't movie. Drawn back to my body, I started toward him, my arms outstretched. And I nearly made it, too, before I found everything go very bright and blue. I could see pretty clouds above me, instead of Claudin, but I wasn't worried about him, because I was pretty sure he was ight next to me in the yellow grass. Why was the grass here yellow, though? "It must be Fall, Claudin...Claudin?" I called, looking around me, pulling myself up from my laying position. All I found was a small note in a pretty, pink envelope. I assumed that it was left to me, though when I opened it, I wasn't the adressee. 'Dear Gloria,' it read, 'I've really been missing you recently, and I really wish you would come and visit my by The Lake, or maybe at The House on the Hill. But really, it doesn't matter where we are. You make this old toad feel unwanted, ugly and lonely without your presence. All your time is spent with that silly new love of yours, Claudin!' Claudin! 'Stop this madness and come back to me, my love. I can't stand to survive without you, you know! My love, forever yours, Deriam' I couldn't believe it! Some awful, vile, ugly woman was cheating on her love with my Claudin! How dare she steal him away from me like that! Who was she? I hastily stuffed the letter, folded back into the pink envelope, into the pocket of the apron I was wearing over the blood-red dress. The apron itself with black, as was the pretty trim on the dress. I rather felt like Alice in Wonderland, and just to try out the words, I said "Curiouser and curiouser!" and ended in a fit of light-hearted giggling. "Don't worry, Claudin! I'll find you, I promise! Just wait for me, and don't you dare nuzzle that dreaded Gloria!" I declared to this new, yet familiar world, starting to step through the yellow grass. Infront of me, I was sure I saw a villiage. "Maybe these people know Gloria, or have seen Claudin!" And, of course, I'd compleatly forgotten about the strange man's name on the end of the note. Deriam?
I think this one's going to work off better for a series of short stories. I suppose I'll keep writing, sort of like chapters for the next few days... The quest to find Claudin! XD And I need to pick a name for this unfortunete girl. PM me suggestions, I guess? ))
