hmmm, i'm not fully sure... just poetry, i guess....

I Am From

i am from a trailor park on a dead end road
full of magic only a child could have known
i am from catching frogs and calling them mine
to climbing tall trees and swinging on vines
i am from "i'll slap you to sleep and slap you for sleeping"
to pain and loss endured without weeping

i am from a book that's truly amazing
that satisfies my reading desires and cravings
i am from the warmth of a friend
who'll stay by my side 'till the very end
i am from drawing pictures that seem advanced
by using my mind and letting the pencil dance

i am from the feelings of love, anger, and hate
and from the things sweet emotions create
i am from dumplings, shrimp, and rice
from holidays like christmas that make me feel nice
i am from dressing up on halloween
to watching when i was young Dragon Ball Z

i am from the days of the past
watching sailor moon and tuxedo mask
i am from anime and manga
to japanese culture and korean manhwa
i am from a family that truly loves me
our laughter, anger, and tears are for all to see

i come from a place where nature can be heard
in a neighborhood where people can act absurd
a joyous place where most can smile
but then turn around and be quite vile
i come from man's best friend
and all other animals on whom we depend

i am from the joy of living
the pain of dying and the wonder of giving
i am from the people who really dream
and even with shattered hopes still believe
i am from the smile joyous memories bring
so that even after i'm gone you'll still remember me
