(Why? BECAUSE I CAN!)
Hail and Well Met! I am Chris, Chris Talespinner. The best bard of Verbabonc and quite possibly becoming the best bard of another world to. What is a bard you ask? Well, its a performer, an artist! We're jack of all trades, we can do anything! My own specialties is knowledge, random lore and stories, singing and playing string instruments. Oh, and I have quite the diplomatic training as well. I love to read and seek out all the interesting tales I can.
I'm told I have a great personality and likeable. Its nice to hear that. What's best though is when people love my music, because its what I'm best at! I let the magic flow around me and I can inspire people's courage to soar! I can also fascinate you like nothing else...and if you try to outsing me, I can do better! Hee, I may not have many spells like regular arcanists in my world, but I work best with a group, and I can buff people really well. Bards are the best at assisting people after all!
When I fight, I start singing to aid others, and then do more with my whip. I can aid people from a distance, and though I'm not that good with it, I can get into the fray with my longsword as well if I need to. I'm not afraid to use my resources to protect my friends and dishearten my enemies! Beware the bard!
Of course, like I said, I've had diplomatic training. Words are my best medium, and if a fight can be avoided with words, I'll try that first. Its the best option for a bard like me to do when I can. Its something my master always tried to enforce on me, was that if you can avoid fights, do so. If not, its time for forceful negotiations!
Anyway, I come from a Rhennee clan in Verbabonc, I left my clan when I was ten. My parents weren't that encouraging of my bardic nature, or my love for song, but my grandmother, the Vashra of our clan, was. She is quite a wonderful woman, and someone worthy of the highest respect. We're the best rogues and thieves with wit and skill to match. Traders of the sea and road, nomads, some of the best of the best. There isn't anything we can't do when we band together, but it had been my time to leave, so I did. I haven't seen my grandmother in 12 winters now. I can only hope she's doing all right.
I've done most of my adventuring so far in The Shield Lands and in Highfolk. That's how I know about Iuz like no other. We may not be directly on the border, but we're in the line of sight if the true borders fall. I've had some nightmares on it, terrible ones at that, but I can't give up hope and my clan won't fall, that I know! My grandmother is very strong, of that I'm sure.
I know I'm babling a bit, but like I said, words are all I have. In this world here, a new chapter is begnining for me. Its exciting and I don't know what's around the corner. Its adventure at its best and its scariest! So like I said...
