Past

“Get out of here you dirty merchant!” “No! Father! You don’t understand!” The merchant was running, his long black hair trailing behind him. “Father, please! Listen to me!” “Get out of the way, Sango!”

Present

The group was traveling along as usual. Kagome and Inuyasha were fighting, Shippo and Kirara walking along behind them. Miroku was deep in thought. No one seemed to notice that Sango wasn’t herself. “Come on Inuyasha! Why won’t you tell me what’s wrong?” Inuyasha opened one eye. “You wouldn’t understand.” Miroku came up to them now. “Now, now Kagome. There’s no need to get mad. You know I’m always here for you.” He said taking her hands. Kagome let out a little “epp” and turned red. Inuyasha grabbed Miroku. “Now listen here monk, you keep your hands…” “Easy, Inuyasha. I was only trying to get Sango’s attention. If you haven’t noticed, she’s not herself today.” Everyone turned around and sure enough, Sango wasn’t paying any attention to the rest of the group. They stopped and started looking at the place to see if it was suitable for a night. Sango kept walking and ran right into Kagome. “Oh. Sorry Kagome.” Sango apologized plainly. “This does look like a nice place for the night. Let’s set up and eat!” Kagome suggested. They all helped set up and soon had a fire started. Something had stirred in the distance. After dinner, Sango was her normal, cheerful self. Kirara and Shippo we curled up together, sleeping. Everyone else was asking Kagome what was going on in her time. This brought up jokes about stupid things. They were all laughing when they heard a loud bang. “I’ll check it out.” Sango offered getting up. Running into the woods, she disappeared. “I’d better go to.” He had an uneasy feeling. Sango had arrived at the site of the noise. Miroku hid behind a large bush that was nearby. The noise was a large demon, larger than any of them had every faced. “So you came alone?” The demon spoke. “A foolish move, Sango.” “How do you know my name?” Sango asked agitated. “You don’t remember? Then again, it was a dark night.” It gave a small laugh. Sango stood in shock. “You…You’re the one that killed…” She felt to her knee’s give out on her. Miroku almost ran out to her when the demon started to speak again. “Yes. I was the one that devoured your son, Migo.” Tears were streaming down her face, as she remembered that night years ago. “You…You basturd!” She threw her sword at the demon (The Hirakikotsu was at the camp) and ran the other way. “Sango!” Miroku called out to her. She kept running, right past Kagome, Inuyasha, Shippo, and Kirara. “Sango, what’s wrong?” Kagome asked her friend. Inuyasha grabbed Kagome, Shippo, and Kirara and ran towards Miroku’s voice. “The demon’s just ahead! I have to talk to Sango. Be careful.” Miroku ran off after Sango. He found her, her hands covering her face. Miroku sat next to her and put his arm around her. “It’s ok Sango.” “Get away from me monk! You don’t understand what’s going on!” She pushed him away. “You almost sound like your father.” “You never knew my father!” She shouted. He hugged her. “Listen to me Sango.” “Get off! You’re to close to me!” She tried pushing him off, but couldn’t. “I have been closer, Sango.” “No one’s been closer to me than that merchant!” She threw him off, and then stopped crying. She remembered how the merchant looked when her father found out what had happened. Miroku was giving her the same look now. She dove into his chest, hugging him. “Miroku! I’m so stupid!” She was crying again. He patted her back and hugged her. “This is no time to cry though. We have to kill that demon for killing our son.” He gave her a smile. So she kept her promise, she named him Migo. She wiped her face off and grabbed the Hirakikotsu. They ran into the woods together. As they approached the demon, Sango threw the Hirakikotsu at it. “I won’t let you live for killing Migo!” Kagome and Inuyasha looked at each other and shrugged. “Must’ve been a friend.” Kagome said. “No difference. I planed on killing this demon anyhow. Kaze no…” “Inuyasha, this is between us. Stay back.” He pushed all of them back. “Kazaana!” He sucked up the leg that Sango had managed to cut off. Miroku closed the wind tunnel and grabbed his staff to start attacking its stomach. The two continued to attack it. About an hour later, the two stopped for a short break. “You really think you little humans can beat me?” “Let me take care of him, will ya?” Inuyasha was ready to go. “No, Inuyasha. We…we must do this alone. It’s personal!” But before he knew it, the demon had grabbed him and was about to eat him. “No! Miroku!” “Sango! I’m sorry! I wish I could’ve told you sooner!” The demon swallowed him whole. “Miroku!” Sango yelled through tears. “It’s ok Sango. We’ll help you fight the demon and bring him back.” Kagome tried to reassure her. “No.” She said getting up slowly. “That thing has taken away the two things I’ve loved most. That thing is about to die!” She ran at it in a blind rage. “I will avenge you for the life’s of Miroku and Migo!” Inuyasha sat down by a tree. “Feh! I could’ve killed that thing with one swipe!” “Inuyasha, sit boy. Sango has to do this alone. She must avenge the death of those two. Although I would like to know who Migo is.” There was silence other than the demon groaning and Sango panting. Then something broke the silence. “Sango!” She stopped in her tracks. “Miroku?” The muffled cry came again. “Sango! Stay away from the back end! It’s my only way to escape!” Miroku yelled from the bowls of the demon. (Inside demon) “There’s no way out. But were you calling a Sango?” Miroku turned around to see a young boy that looked about ten. “Yes. But how did you…?” Miroku asked but before he could finish, the boy spoke. “I was separated from my mother one night and ended up here. That was about three years ago. I survived by eating the things the demon did.” He explained. “So you’re mother was Sango? Well, Migo, let’s try to get out of here together.” “Is she still alive?” He asked the older man. “She won’t if we don’t find a way out of here.” Miroku smiled. (Outside demon) Sango was attacking the front, sweat dripping down her face. “I won’t quit!” The demon moved and Sango’s sword hit its neck. “Arg! I can’t sit around anymore!” Inuyasha got up and sliced the demon right down the middle. “That’s convenient.” Miroku said poking his head out. Sango dropped her sword and ran over to him, giving him a kiss. “I thought I lost you forever!” She had tears streaming down her face. She kissed him again but he pushed her away. “Wait a second now. There’s a kid here somewhere.” Sango looked confused. Miroku bent down and helped the boy out. “There you are.” “Mother?” The boy had medium length black hair and bright brown eyes. “Migo!” Sango grabbed him from Miroku and gave him a hug. He returned the hug, happy to be back with his mother. “Mother. Who is he? He knows my name.” He asked whispering into her ear. “That’s your father, Migo. Remember the merchant I always told you about? That’s him.” Miroku came up behind Sango and put his arm around her. “Now we can be a family.” They didn’t notice Kagome, Inuyasha, Shippo, and Kirara come up. “Family?” Kagome asked. “Kirara!” Sango let Migo play with Kirara while she explained. “About twelve years ago, I fell in love with a traveling merchant. When my father found out what we where doing, he told the merchant to leave. About a year later, I kept a promise to the nameless merchant and named the baby Migo. A few years later, this demon attacked our village and swallowed Migo. And then tonight, the nameless merchant I swore my love to, the one I’ve been traveling with for so long, and our son, Migo, have been reunited.” Sango finished. “So you’ve really known Miroku longer than you thought?” Kagome asked. “Yes. But after her father threw me out, I cut my hair and fulfilled my destiny to become a monk. A monk that wanted the Shikon no Tama. It doesn’t surprise Sango didn’t recognize me after all those years.” Miroku said. Sango felt something tugging at her skirt. “Who are those two?” Migo asked. Shippo had already introduced himself. “That there is you’re Aunt Kagome and over there is you’re Uncle Inuyasha.” She said trying to hold back a laugh. “WHAT?!” Kagome and Inuyasha shouted. Sango and Miroku burst out laughing. “Oh I wish I could ‘sit’ you!” “Kagome!” Inuyasha said from the ground. “Inuyasha! I’m sorry!” “Why don’t we go back and get something to eat and then some rest?” Miroku suggested. They all went back, Sango, Miroku, and Migo in the front, Shippo and Kirara in the middle and Kagome and Inuyasha in the back, fighting.

DISCLAIMER!! I do not own Inuyasha or it's characters in any way! I can only claim Migo since I created him...and the demon I made up...
