Hijoro is a bit of a lone wolf. He may come off as a bit cold but this is only to protect himself. Although he is rough around the edges, Hijoro is trustworthy and holds to his word, regardless of the cost on his behalf. He is exceptionally tolerant of other people's behavior and rarely loses his temper. He often stays to the background and has a great ability to listen, often giving him opportunities to gain information on the people around him. He is one to keep a cool head under pressure and tries desperately to never show any weaknesses. Incredibly independant, he has grown up with very few friends.

Hijoro lost his family when he was seven in a freak fire accident. The detective in charge of the investigation susspected foul play, but no evidence was ever found. This is potentially the greatest factor in what determined his personality over the years. He started out by living in an orphanage as a ward of the state, yet he ran away when he turned eight. For the next eleven years, he lived out of an abandoned furnace room about four stories beneath an old company main office building and honed his skills with a blade in secret. In his spare time he tends to a small nocturnal herb garden he constructed in the corner of his room. The pendant he keeps on his neck at all times was given to him by his mother and is his only keepsake to remember his parents by.
Another odd ability of Hijoro's is his strange affinity for light. Hijoro possesses the bizarre ability to bend light to his whim. He can manipulate the light around him to make himself appear invisible as well as create illusions in the eyes of other people. With this odd ability to at his disposal, Hijoro has made his way by taking only what he needs to get by. He uses his power as little as possible and goes to great lengths to make sure no one knows about it. Though he could make a good living for himself stealing whatever he wants, he chooses not to, and makes most of his income from playing his guitar as a street performer. He has a few connections with the beggars of the streets, making it yet another source of information should he require it.
Although he spends most of his time in the urban area, Hijoro is an avid forager and gets most of his supplies through hunting in the forest area outside the city walls. Recently, Hijoro has been having strange dreams where a man sized wolf made entirely out of light, visits him and leads him through the forest. He feels this is a sign of some sort, though he knows not what to make of it.
