Current Story: Surprises (Aka: Lacey's Story)
Sorry for my supa short entries, I get writers block super fast, and I have a REALLY busy schedule right now. Please, please, please comment!!! And enjoy!
A Challenge Beaten, An Aquaintance made
Lacey put the clothes away, tidied herself up, and set out for town.
She opened the door to the bakery, and heard Mrs. Tulune call out "How can I he- Oh, Darling, it's you! Hmm. Did I forget to tell you, dear, I'm so spacey! Today you can take the day off! Help yourself to breakfast, then go look around town!" Lacey got a small cup of water and a slice of bread and butter. Once she was done, she thanked Mrs. Tulune and headed out.
There's so many shops! I wonder what kind of things they have. . .
There were ladies by the fountain, enjoying thier morning tea. Little children were playing a game with a roughly made ball. Lacey wasn't that much older than them. But they had lots of things she didn't have. Lacey longed for a friend. Oof!
Lacey was sitting down, her breath knocked out of her. A Boy was holding his head a few feet from her. She crawled over to him.
"I. . .I'm sorry. I didn't see you. I should have been paying more attention. Did I hurt you?"
He looked up. He had a funny look on his face. He seemed kinda familiar to Lacey. . .
"What are you, Stupid? I don't get hurt that easily. Especially not by a girl."
"What's that I hear? A challenge? Coward. Can't admit that a widdle girl gave him a boo-boo." She turned around and started to walk off proudly.
"He- Wait! What was that for, Fool? Oh, I get it. You're a tomboy."
Lacey spun around, a mean look in her eye. "Get off my back, Pest!!" She yelled as she pounded him into the ground. All the kids were staring now. The new girl had just pounded one of the toughest boys without even flinching.
She got admirable looks from the girls-and wanting look from some of the boys her age.
"Ah, c'mon! I didn't mean ta make you mad!!" He shouted after her.
"So you wanna act nice now? What a kiss-up. I don't need a someone to follow me around all day. I don't need someone who puts on a show to try to be my friend. Get lost."
He stared speechlessly at her."So that's how it's gonna be, huh? Well, give me one more chance. You caught me off gaurd. Meet us all at the river tomorrow for a REAL fight. Show-off."
She waved her hand in dissmissal."Yeah, Yeah. I'll be there. Wouldn't want to miss another chance to crush you in front of everyone."
The following day. . .

"So, punk, whatcha wanna bet that you can beat me?"
"Hmm. Nothing. I just can't wait to see your face when you lose to 'a girl' like me."
They climbed onto the rocks and waited for the kids to shout, "Three. . . Two. . . One. . . Fight!!"
He went to push Lacey over, but she ducked and spun him off his feet. He fell into the river. She waved her arms victoriously over her head.
He pushed her over into the river too. They fought as they current pulled them downstream a bit. The kids followed above the surface, trying to catch a glimpse of the action. Lacey punched him into the sand, and jumped out. He climbed out after her. Sopping wet, they continued in the field. All of a sudden, Lacey disapeared in the grass maze. She snuck up behind him, sent him flying into the air, and said,"finished?"
He sat up, rubbing his head, throwing her a look of total loathing."Fine, princess, if you'll tell 'em I let you win."
She starred at him emptily for a second, then threw him a cruel smile. From outside the maze, the children heard Lacey yell at the top of her lungs,"OVER MY DEAD BODY!!" and sent him straight through the staks of corn and wheat, so he was sitting right outside in full view.
They looked at him expectantly."Alright, Alright, she won."
she walked over to him and helped him up."Thanks."
"For what? You kicked my butt."
"I've never done that before. It was fun."
"Wow. . . You really are a tomboy."
"I can re-arrange your face if you don't stop with the smart remarks."
"Whatever. Hey, we could all show you around town sometime. If you promise to keep a low-level with the violence, you know, having all these little bra-I mean squirts around."
She smiled. Wow. . . What a smile. . . He thought to himself. He shook his head as all the little kids kept jumping up and down around Lacey.
"Allright, C'mon now, let's go back" she said as she lead the excited children back to town.

Later that night, she sat outside her hut, thinking of everything that happened that day. I guess I'm pretty good at fighting. I didn't think I would win. I've never really practiced, considering I was locked up everytime I did anything realating to that. Oh Well. That doesn't matter. Today was fun. She thought as she went to sleep.
