Two shadowed figures stood in a dark stoned room, something that appeared to be a part of a castle. Only the light of a dulled gray fire could be seen across the room, but it made no help on shedding light on the two beings in the room.

"There have been a lot of recent deaths, what do you think is the cause of this?" The first being asked, gazing out of the large opened window at the dark gray/black of the world beyond.

"Don't play dumb." The second figure who sat in a large chair replied, "You and I both know that a new Dark Immortal has appeared."

"True... So what will you do about it? Will you fight once again?"

"My time is over. Besides, this new one is far too strong for me. The world needs a new hero. Someone who can surpass me in strength. But don't worry, I have already found such a hero, and sent him the invitation. All we can do now is wait."

"You sound sure that he will accept. What if he doesn't? Then what?"

"Don't be so negative. He will accept."






Resting under the comfortable shade of a large oak tree sat a young boy, only 15 years of age, his long black coat folded next to him. It was a scorching day. He took a sip of the water from his canteen, and looked over to the traveling pack at his side, filled with a few meager things, mainly only food.

"Perhaps leaving at this time of the year wasn't my best idea." He said aloud to himself, "Oh well, at least I had an excuse to leave that dreaded village..."

The boy himself had lived in a village of humans, which would have seemed nice, as long as no one had demon blood in their veins, which just happened to be why the villagers disliked him. He had only stayed because it was the place of his birth and he had no where else to go. he had no family. His mother had died when he was still very young, and after that, his father just disappeared without a trace, leaving him alone. That was until he met a mysterious man who at times came to check up on him and helped him out of a few scrapes. But the man came and gone as he liked... Even now the man still came, though he hadn't seen him for quite some time.

"But I'm itching to know the meaning behind my dream. 'Go to Darkstorm II's grave'... I always though he was just a legend. To think such a being existed. Oh well, what have I got to lose?"

After a while he stood, picking up his coat and traveling bag and put away his canteen before leaving away, back on his journey. As he walked, he began to think that it was getting warmer, though how could that be? The shade of the trees above should have helped, even just a little, but soon the scent of smoke filled his senses. He rushed forwards, knowing that a city was just ahead of him.

Coming up to it, his saw billowing black clouds of smoke, as the entire city was a blaze. He froze up a bit, wondering who could do such a horrible thing. He set his few belonging down and ran forward. he could not just stand around or walk away without doing anything. He covered his mouth and nose so not to breathe in the fumes with the collar of his black short sleeved shirt, and through the smoke his saw a muscular winged demon, preparing to attack a girl about the same age as he. He ran forwards, claws and fangs beared colpletely-the only weapons he had, and through himself at the demon, "Run, human!" He yelled at the girl who complied by running the way he had came.

The demon whom he had jumped on yelped out in surprise and pain as he fell over, his wings flailing, before throwing the boy back.

"Miserable mutt!" The demon growled out at the young half wolf/dog demon, before scanning the area for the lone survivor, but she was no where to be found. He nose was clogged with ashes hiding her scent, and his eyes had begun to water. He was in no shape to fight, and with a grand flap of his black and red wings he ascended into the air, yelling out, "I'll get you back!"

The boy looked up as the demon left, before leaving the burning city. He could hear no cries, knowing that everyone else was lost, unless if any other survivors had made a run for it, and was already long gone from the area. He walked back, rubbing his burning eyes and coughed, wondering where the girl had gone. She was a human, but he still felt a bit worried for her. It wasn't safe for a young girl to travel on her own, especially one who had witnessed countless deaths.

He picked up his belongings and yelled out, "Hey, girl! You out there?"

The girl emerged from her hiding place seeing the man who had saved her, "My name is Tayia." She said as she walked up to him, and what might be my hero's name?"

"H-Hero? I'm no hero, just a traveler." He replied, "But if you must know my name, it is Inda."
