Woot! ~ I bet you think everything going so smoothly right now, don’t ya? Yeah well things are about to go for a dip on the Villain. An unexpected dip. One that probably won’t have an effect on this story till later on. Right when everyone thinks that it’s the point in the story where I decide to let every one live happily ever after, BAM!!! My little puppets are going to lose something precious to them. And who knows, it just might not make it back. So beware, my puppets, beware. ~ *Thursday, 6:35 pm - 48 hours before* Mae missed her iPod dearly. It was like her little baby; it was even named ‘Mae’s Baby’. The good thing about being muggle-born is all the great things she got. Like her DS, her iPod, and the clothes were semi-normal. Here everything was blah and blah; grey uniforms, grey stone walls, boring teachers. She sat in her seat next to Neville in Potion detention. Snape was going on and on about the importance of following the directions and for a stupid reason too. All because Neville and her had put in too much frogs tongue in today’s potion. Well if they didn’t make things so slippery then she would have spill the whole jar in the big black thingy. Twisting hair between her fingers, she blocked out Snape and thought of Troy. It’s been about a month since they got together. It was now early December but luckily it hadn’t start to snow for this coming up weekend, a lot of things were happing. For one there was another Hogsmead trip and later that evening there was an “Under the Stars” movie. It’s really weird to explain since nothing works Muggle works in Hogwarts but some how Dumbledore is like using his wand as a projector. (Yeah don’t ask) And of course she was going to go see it with Troy and Lynn and her boyfriend were going to sit with them. Sadly though since Isabel’s boyfriend doesn’t like Grffindors or Muggle-born, and really hates them when the two are mixed, they will be sitting far away. But hey maybe now Isabel will finally be able to get her first kiss. But then again that Pansy chick always seemed to get in the way. A book slammed on the desk in front of her, snapping her out of her thoughts. “Miss Suren, did you get that?” Snape said without moving his teeth. He leaned forward as if trying to frighten her. “All of it, sir. And I would just like to say thank you for everything. For if it wasn’t for you, where would we be? Somewhere homeless with out discipline or the knowledge of potions.” Snape got this really nasty snarl on his face. “Get out now.” Neville and Mae quickly got up out of their seats and exited the room. ~ *Sunday, 7:47 am - 12 hours later* Mae leaned against the wall with Troy’s arm draped over her shoulder. She rubbed her bandaged hand; the nurse had been able to fix it but it still hurt like hell. Hell, everything hurt like hell. Nobody in the Great Hall would disagree. She looked down at her messed up shirt. Blondelle’s blood and even some of her own were in giant blobs across the white and black shirt. Tears began to fill her eyes but she did her best to blink them away. Looking up to the ceiling she saw that the sun was rising, casting orange rays across the sleeping bodies. As the warm light reached Troy, he stirred and opened his weary blue eyes. “Hey,” he yawned as he stretched his arms above his head. “Did you get any sleep?” All Mae had to do was give him a look. “I’ll take that as a no.” “I don’t know how you could.” He just shrugged. “I guess cause I know that you’re safe.” Mae pinched his side. “That’s so corny. ‘Hey look at me; I can sleep because I know that my girlfriend only came this close to losing a hand!’” She stared hard at the wall across the room, refusing to make eye contact. Troy leaned his forehead against her head. “Mae, look at me.” The first time she wouldn’t but he kept nudging her which oddly reminded her of a needy dog. He gave her a kiss but even that couldn’t distract her. How could she tell him or Isabel or Lynn or even anyone for that matter? How could she tell someone? ~ *Saturday, 12:08 am - 8 hours before* Mae had just finished tying her shoelaces when Ginny walked in all pretty like. “Well, well, well, who likes short shorts? Ginny likes short shorts!” Ginny gave her a glare and walked over to the other side of Mae’s bed. “They are not short shorts. It’s a short skirt.” Ginny informed her with a hint of sarcasm. “Oh yeah that makes a huge difference. The only thing now is that Dean will have an easier access at tonight’s movie thingy.” Ginny pushed her off the bed. “Its called playing hard to get, Dean will see what he wants but sadly he’s going to have to work for it more than he thinks.” “But sadly?” Mae repeated and questioned has she got off the floor. “Alright then, that’s a bit awkward. You know Ron is going to kill Dean and put you in a nunnery when he sees you?” “That’s why Ron isn’t going to see me nor Harry nor Hermione nor anyone who knows me.” “Okay you know you really shouldn’t tell me these things with the kind of mind I have. I’d put you in a nunnery meself.” Mae brushed herself off and went to the bathroom mirror to put her hair in the ever famous ponytail. She puts her hair in a ponytail for at least 95% of the year. Ginny followed her and perched herself on the counter. “Your Irishness is coming out.” “How so?” “You said ‘meself’. I’ve only heard Seamus and the other Irish people say that.” “I’m sure other people but the Irish say that.” “Sure they might but so far they are the only ones I heard say that.” “Well then sorry for being Irish.” “That’s right you’re ‘American’. Your country is the melting pot, where Germans are combined with Austrians.” “You say that like it’s a bad thing.” “Well I don’t mean to, it’s just weird considering I can’t even imagine being anything but British.” Mae gave her an odd look but Ginny paid no mind to it. Suddenly she looked Mae up and down. “You’re not seriously wearing that, are you?” “What’s wrong with it?” Mae turned herself around to look at herself from behind. Wearing jeans, a baseball tee, and her Chuck Taylors, she thought she looked fine. “Mae you’re going out with Troy Blare. Are you aware of whom that is?” “Uh . . . Troy Blare?” “He’s probably one of Hogwarts Top 10 Men! God, he looks like a model, he’s so polite, plus did I mention he looks like a model?! Don’t you notice when you walk by some people and they give you the up and down look?” “Not really . . .” Then Mae thought for a minute, “Mmm . . . I wonder who the other guys are?” “What? Never mind that! Go change into a skirt and nice tee or something!” Mae waked over and put her hands on either side of Ginny’s face. “Ginny, dear, you’re talking to me.” She grabbed her hand and pulled her off the counter and out of the dorm. “Now let’s go!” ~ *Saturday, 5:14 pm - 2 hours before* Mae now walked down the alley, hand in hand with Troy. Truth be told it felt kind of awkward. She’s not one for a whole lot of PDA. Its not that she’s ashamed, she just doesn’t like it. If people come up to her and say “Hey you’re dating Troy Blare!” she says yes. But the whole kissing in public and things really isn’t her style. She took another bite off her candy necklace that he bought for her. (Now that she doesn’t mind) “Hey there’s the Three Broomsticks, want to go in and get some butterbeers?” Troy asked pointing towards the pub. “How about instead of butterbeers, we get Fufu berries?” “Ha ha, no. You’ll get all hyped up on that then crash before the movie even starts.” “Fine.” Mae pouted but sadly understood what he meant. The movie they were playing was the Princess Bride. She had to stay up and watch the part where she pushes the guy down the hill and then tumbles down herself. Why the hell she didn’t just walk down, the world may never know. The atmosphere inside was warm and snuggly. She like that word. Snuggly. It basically rolled off her tongue and sounded funny. Just like the word pudding. Pudding, that’s a funny word. They spotted a booth that was filled with their friends, so they walked over to say hi. There sat Harry, Lynn and Becky on one side and Hermione, Ron and Luis on the other. Troy pulled up chairs for the two of them to sit at the end. Or as Mae says the head of the table. The alphas sit at the head of the tables. They only had an hour to spare till they had to head back for the movie. A couple times, Mae looked around to see is Isabel would show up there but there was no sign. Hopefully she was having a good time with her boyfriend. Hey, they all have boyfriends at the same time. Awe. ~ *Saturday, 7:30 pm - 30 minutes before; Isabel’s View* Draco and Isabel were lying on their backs, looking up at the stars before the movie started. There was only a few other couples around them but so far it was pretty deserted. Soon enough it will be pack but right now they were just enjoying each others company. “Hey look!” Draco pointed at the dark sky with his finger. There it seemed right above him was a shooting star. Isabel gawp since she’d never saw a real one but quickly closed her eyes to make a wish. Without her noticing, Draco got up on one elbow and was looking down at her. “What are you doing?” “Making a wish, now shhh! Before I beat you with my shoe!” Isabel concentrated harder on her wish. Draco was now extremely close to being on top of her. But he wanted to be secretive and being secretive was he. As soon as Isabel opened up her eyelids, Draco closed the distance between their lips. Being her first kiss Isabel didn’t react fast enough. He pulled back just enough to look at her face. Tears welded up in her eyes and her face turned bright red. Finally, Jesus in a Skirt let me have my first kiss! And with Draco! Quickly she looked around to see if there was any pig-raced whores anywhere. Happily, there wasn’t. Isabel looked back at Draco who, once again, quickly, but gently, kissed her again. But this time Isabel was prepared and to her the kiss was perfect! ~ *Saturday, 7:59 pm - 1 minute before* Mae had her head resting on Lynn’s lap and her feet on Troy’s. She was cozy, watching a movie under the stars with her best friend and boyfriend. When she was walking onto the school grounds, she noticed that the only thing Isabel was watching was her eyelids. Her and Draco were connected by the lips and wasn’t coming up for air either. Lynn looked down at her and gave her an Asian smile while Mae gave her a raspberry. ~ *Saturday, 8:00 pm* The first red bolt came and destroyed Princess Buttercup’s face. It flew directly over Mae and to her it seemed like it took forever when it really took less then a second. Soon enough everyone was up and screaming towards Hogwarts main doors. But more bolts came scattering everyone into different places. People were bumping into each other, crashing down to the ground. But for Mae it hadn’t clicked yet that Hogwarts was being attacked. She probably wouldn’t have gotten up if Troy didn’t pull her to her feet. He grabbed her hand and pulled her towards the doors. Mae looked around, gripping Troy’s hand, and so far saw no one hurt. But it seemed like the attacks were purposely missing everyone. That was until she saw someone with curly red hair lying in a pool of something dark and runny. She had hair redder then Becky’s. “Blondelle!” Mae tore her hand away from Troy’s and rushed towards where the first year was lying, near the forest where all the red attack bolts where coming from. Mae accidentally slipped in the blood but lucky her. A red bolt came charging towards her but instead of striking her head, stuck her hand. It went clear through her flesh and bone, but she didn’t feel anything. She wrapped her arms around the girl and hurled up. Troy had now finally reached her, having tripped himself. He took Blondelle in one arm and grabbed Mae’s wrist with the other. They ran towards the door along with everyone else. The theory before was crushed as she saw people bleeding and crying. Then she saw Isabel, unhurt, but following a Crabb and Goyle who had Draco painfully limping between them. Mae looked back to where the red bolts were coming from. There she felt eyes, watching her, staring at her with disturbing intentions. Troy was able to pull her out of it by calling her name. Most teachers were outside now, using a shield spell to block off the attacks. It was only able to handle a few hits before it came crumbling down. But by then, everyone was now locked inside the castle. ~ *Sunday, 11:42 pm - 3 hours later* Things were now up to pace with Mae. Everything was wasn’t in slow motion anymore. She held her bandaged hand in her other. The nurse said that she was one of the lucky ones not to get too hurt. There were only a few serious cases: Blondelle, some second year boy, and Draco. She had just got done finishing talking to Isabel, who was with Lynn luckily. She said that Draco got shot through the knee, trying to protect her. It took long for her to say since she couldn’t stop crying. Mae left her in the care of Lynn to go back to the nurse’s place to see Blondelle. And maybe, secretly thank Draco. All of Hogwart’s windows and doors were bolted shut. In about twenty minutes she had to be in the Great Hall, for that is where everybody will be sleeping tonight. While she was passing, she overheard some mumbling in an open classroom. Mae put her ear next to the crack of opening. “Who that was, or even what that was, I’m afraid to admit but was not the work of He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named.” “What are you talking about, who else would attack the school?” “No Severus, Minerva is right. The Dark Lord would have shown himself and left the Deatheater mark in the sky. No this is the work of someone new but not of an armature.” “You can not be serious? Who would it be Albus?” “I’m not sure Pomona, but I have never seen those spells before in my life . . . .” Mae now ran away from the voices. She didn’t want to hear anymore.
