Today was quite interesting to tell you the truth. My grade went on a hiking feild trip, but without me. I have some aquillies tendonitis thing so I can't walk for long distances for a long period of time. Anyways, long story short -- I didn't go. I asked my homeroom teacher what I should do all day, she said to ask my science teacher, who was hosting the feild trip. She said to ask the vice principal. So I did, and ended up serving alongside the kindergarten class.
I cut hands out, stapled "Alphatales" story books together, and watched the kids at recess. Luckily, I took two breaks to hang out with my bestie Alex. So we watercoloured and such. It was nice to have a break from screaming five year olds. Even if they were all so cute.
One of them had a total break down after the first recess just because the teacher-aid was calling her name to come line-up. Does this make sense? No. She was crying her eyes out because the other students called her name as well. No, they didn't call her names. They litterally called out for her by calling her name. This was no offense, I tell you. What makes matters worse is that this girl is the one I am going to be babysitting! Ugh!
The other kids were really cute. One little girl was like my buddy all day. Another was really adorable and always waved to me. And this one little boy picked a flower and gave it to me. I do enjoy when children are like that...
After the six hours of hard labour, I was able to leave early by telling the teacher my class was back from the feild trip: which they were. Right when I walked up the stairs, everyone told me how lucky I was that I didn't go. Not that I wanted to go anyways, even if I wasn't handicap.
The point is, to-day was very long. And very hot. Yes, hot in winter...it's Hawaii people. I better get some service hours for this...
