Ok so Gaia is under fire right now; people have a right when they're unhappy about something to say "Hey I'm unhappy" or "I feel a bit cheated, to be honest".
It always happens when something is released; not everyone can be happy. If Gaia staff were really that upset by a bit of negative feedback they'd close the damn site down and go live in caves.
Fact is; they may not like it but they tollerate it because they're more than aware that Gaian users cannot all be pleased.
People do like the addition of Magical Girl items and Orphans and generally any other item that is released / create; there will always be lovers and haters. The main issue right now is the delivery of these items; they were all added to the Cash Shop. The Magical Girl items are absolutely beautiful but at $1 x 24 items (or so) it feels a bit .... well greedy, to be honest.
As for Orphans, many of the users rallying for the return of the orphans had a certain special few; they'll have to shell out loads of Gaia gold or their real money (possibly) to get their favourites. There is a "well sell what you don't want" attitude, but when the Orphan letter cost 49 cash and the orphans now (Depending on the one you get) are worth less than 1k, it doesn't add up.
All in all, people do like new items, they love updates, they love it when Gaia gives them what they ask for but Gaia do sometimes release those items in the wrong way.
I stand by my belief that the Magical Girl Cash shop items should have been released in one big set (Where you had access to all the colours) and hence you could buy 4 of that item rather than 4x the 6 or so colour options. Let's do some math, shall we?
User "Joe Blogs" really LIKES the Cash Shop Magical Girl items. He/She thinks they're awesome and really wants to buy whole sets so he/she can cosplay his/her favourite Sailor Scouts from Sailor Moon.
In order to do that he/she needs to buy Four of each colour so that he/she can wear the Dress/Skirt, The bow, the stockings and the shoes.
There are 6 colours; Yellow, Blue, Purple, Green, Black and Pink.
Each Dress costs 99 cents, so pretty much a dollar.
4 x 0.99 = $3.96
So for one full set "Joe Blogs" needs to pay $3.96; sure that = less than 2 MC's but anyway, there is more.
So now Joe Blogs has purchased, say, an entire Yellow set. He/she has a yellow bow, yellow dress, yellow stockings and yellow shoes. He/she can now cosplay in yellow
However, he a/she also likes the other colours. There are still 5 more sets of 4 to purchase if, indeed, he/she wants the whole set.
So;
5 x 3.96 = $19.80
So in total to buy 4 of each colour Job Blogs needs to shell out; 23.76. Then you add 40 more cents so he/she can have the gloves.
Making a grand total of: $24.16.
Sure the arguments can be;
- 1. Buy in the MP.
- 2. Don't buy them all, buy what you can afford.
- 3. Stop bitching leave Gaia, the Admin are awesome and don't deserve any stick.
All fair, if not slightly defensive, points. Fact is if Gaia had done the right thing in the first place and made One multi-coloured Magical Girl Cash Shop item then Joe Blogs could have bought 4 of this one cash shop item and probably saved himself/herself a bit of money; sure that might = less money for Gaia but in the long run maybe Joe Blogs might not have felt that he had to shell out a lot of real money for items he/she likes.
Also to those who say "Buy in the MP"; someone has to buy them from the cash shop in the first place and not everyone has the sheer volume of gold to be purchasing that many Cash shop items. They still translate in to a high amount of gold, so either way you have to fork out a lot for each separate item.
All could have been remedied by making one multi-coloured item of happiness...

You know, a lot of people might come in here and say "this is the SF, we give our feedback, positive AND negative". But it seems like it's not even negative feedback they are giving at all. More like just whining and complaining because Gaia staff did not blink right in doing their updates.
Sure there are whiners but there is also some valid feedback to be found. I personally feel the CS items should have included the backbow from the original and that the original deserves shoes and stockings.
The reason I have made my complaints so openly is because I love the item but feel there are things the staff can do to improve this item. If they added back bows to the CS items and shoes / stockings to the Original I would be happy.
I believe the staff deserve to hear feedback about their moves and whilst some of it is just bitching that staff never do anything right there are other things the staff have done right. Everyone was very happy with the Kiki/Coco slippers; there were very few complaints execept from those who felt they should have been an MC or more limited for profit reasons.
But in terms of the execution of the desgin it was considered a fairly successful product. The Magical Girl recolours are wonderful; people wanted them, but there are holes in the delivery of this item. The MC needs a re-vamp to include the new items created and the new items deserve the Backbows because the announcement stated that all Magical Girl clothing was being recoloured; backbow = clothing, not weapon, wig or Phee-chan.

Ok. I know there is a bit of a divide; a few people I talk to from the SF are in support of Gaia's actions and think all the whinners and complainers (which would include me) are whiny bitches and / or stupid.
Whilst I don't think I'm included in the stupid part I can't be too sure. So let me just make my stance on the whole thing clear;
I'm not really against the idea of the re-coloured items; I do, in fact, really like them. I was happy to see them at first until I realised how much of my money I would need to spend to make a few sets. I wanted to get sets of the black, yellow, blue and probably purple. But that would cost me far too much money.
I was also sad that there was a lack of the back bow item, which could have really perked the interest of people who dislike the magical girl item because of its candy sweet, tooth rotting nature.
In short whilst I do like the items there are flaws in it.
I hope those of you who support the staff and those of you that think the SF are whiny, stupid bitches will forgive me my critical eye over this item.
I believe Gaia could have done a few things differently. I just do.

I love Gaia. I love the creators and I love the site. I love how it's growing and I support the site as often as I can.
But when I feel like they are trying to gouge me for money, I get upset. The site I love, I feel like, isn't giving a damn about me as a user. I'm just another person to contribute to the next paycheck and server upgrade.
They didn't boost the MC. That is simply a lie. And frankly I don't appreciate being lied to.
And it won't change because people bought the items from the store and there's likely no way to find out who did and refund them and then upgrade the item.
