Petty Desires
The desire for gold, items, and power drives a lot of the Gaian community. Sometimes without even know a Gaian will act in a way just for gold. Were a community of fun loving anime/manga freaks who just want to talk. Though if you take a stroll down chatter box lane you'll find out that our image is chattered. Though there are still some wonderful places that hold the jolly Gaian spirit. Like the Q&A were people can ask questions without being yelled at for being a n00b. I have questions time to time and I ask. I don't feel stupid for asking and people give a kind answer no matter the question. But these kind actions only come up when someone .needs. something. Yes, even those good natured Gaians need something.
In truth Gaia isn't a fun loving place to talk. It's a cyber world with rules, guidelines, and beliefs. Half of the Gaian population wants to look cool. But what is looking cool? Is it wearing expensive items? Is it working up a killer out fit? It is having a glitch that turns you into a floating head? And what about getting here. A lot of people think 'oh I'll get what I want then. Then I will give back to Gaia. Yes I will start a charity where I'll give out gold to people that were once like me'. Right, you just . think. your going to do that...Get real! OK this coming from a person who owns a OMG and a NM Scarf and is about to quest for a Devil Tail it doesn't work that way. Yes give back to the community but don't do it for petty reasons. Running a charity is hard (once again coming from someone who has had one) you make your own funds and you help people that really need it or not. Do you want to be that super Gaian that everyone looks up to? Don't you already have those cool cloths that do that? All the sudden the image of a cool Gaian is shifted. Is it all about owning all the items in the world? Or is it about knowing the rules talking with friends, helping out those who need it and so forth. Sad to say in this since if you want to be cool gold has nothing to do with it.
Then why do we do it... why do we drive ourselves to outstanding heights to get those items? I really don't know the answer. In truth, I'm kind of scared to hear it. If it is just for petty reasons then Gaia isn't what it is presented as on the into page, it's something far different.
