The softball drama appears to be over. The one woman who was the voice of all anger and frustration has proved herself to be a liar, has discredited herself in the community, and people are really angry at her saying that she "stepped over the line" and was "way out of control."

The weaker players have quit, which is sad because two of them are really sweet kids. The third girl is the child of the woman who was proved a liar - and she used to be a good kid, but the recent rumors surrounding her are quite horrible. From the word going around - sex, drugs, booze, and stealing have supposedly taken over her life - at the ripe old age of 13.

Anyway, at the last game several parents came up and asked if anyone was missing, the three girls who decided to leave names were mentioned, and the overwhelming response was "Oh, that's not a big loss they weren't very good to begin with."

I was like "Um...they were still important to the team!" eek

I was told that the general opinion of the girls who left were that they were semi-average players who were used to playing on a team comprised of poor players - and because of that they considered themselves super stars. So when they joined a group of girls who are really good players, their lack of talent was made apparent and they were taken off the pedistal they had put themselves up on - and they didn't like it. Nobody likes to be taken off a pedistal.

It is a sad story. It's truly a shame. Mostly because the team is going to go to the county tournament - as well as form an all star team. And although the three girls who quit would not have been asked to join the all-star team, it would have been their one opportunity to at least have played in a county tournament. Tournaments are so much fun.
