CHAPTER 1: "Escape" Part 1
So today was the day we were supposed to be going to see Sandrah's parents. They live in Skytopia, the best city in the world. But what I really dont understand is why she lives here, the worst city in the world when she can live in Skytopia with her parents. She doesn't like to tell anybody the answers to that question.
Well Nia and I were waiting for her at the sophian(local food from that galaxy that is enjoyed by everyone/its like pizza) store that she told us to meet her. She was lae as usual but with the money her parents sent her, her excuse better not have been because she was packing. We waited, sitting there, wondering what was taking her so long for about 20 minutes.
Then she finally got there on her AB(Air Bike/bike that hovers off the ground, not requering pedaling or wheels) but she wasn't alone. With her was someone I never saw in my life. She was short, about 4 11, had red hair, her eyes were as red as her hair and she dressed wierder than she looked. She was wearing a red shirt, red skirt and red boots.
"WHO is that?" I said giving her a wierd look like she looked wierd, which she did.
"Hi to you too and this is ..umm Tina" Sandrah said hesitantly.
"Oh hey. What is she doing here?" I asked back.
"She's coming with us. Hi Nia." she said quickly trying to change the subject.
"Coming with us? Since when?"I said before Nia could greet her back.
"shut up already. if Sandrah says she's coming then she's coming. This is Sandrah's trip maybe YOU shouldn't come." she said punching my arm.
"OUCH, your lucky your a girl cause i would have..." I threatened rubbing my arm.
Nia ignored me and greeted Sandrah and Tina. "Hey Sandrah.hey Tina."
Sandrah and Nia laughed while Tina was just quiet and i continued to rub my arm.
"So we should get going guys, we have to be out of the city before the baron decides to lock the exits." Sandrah said parking her AB.
"lets take a PAC" (Public Air Car)
Whenwe reached the City Exits, the Baron was begining his Daily law change/punishment session/News. it was a law that everyone stop and listen to what he said or they will be punished. i already hated the Baron as it was but he just made me hate him even more for the things he did each day. he would raise taxes and lower the work age each year depending on how much was being given to the city and he was already at age 12, it was my day off and i was not planing on returning to this city for another year. at least.
Baron- "People of the city, today is a day for the history books. i am now officially locking this city for good. my reasons are none of your concern but no one will leave or enter this underground city until further noticemy guards will be patrolling the city for any rulebrakers. also, everyone is to work today to keep the city running and if anyone tries to escape or disobeys the law change, the will be killed at tomorow's punishment session.that is all."
"WHAT?!?!" i yelled so loud that the thirty guards that were at the Exit gate heard me.
"hey you, shut up and get to work" the Green guard yelled.
"there goes my trip" Sndrah said with her head down.
"why does he have to be so..so.....grrr" nia foloowed not finding the words to say.
i looked at both there faces and saw the sorrow in their eyes. they were devestated. they had their hopes and dream destroyed just because of a selfish man who didn't even care. that when it struck me. the Exit pods weren't the only way out. there was another exit. an exit my late grandfather used to tell me about. and exit my father used to escape. an exit my mother was killed for knowing about.
"hey guys," i whispered to them. "there's another exit you know. its called an elevator i think. my grandfather used to tell me about it."
"u know that thing is only a myth. it doesn't exist." nia protested.
"yes it does. my dad used it. he became the first to LEAVE this city and not have to come back or be tracked down." i returned.
"Drake, are you sure? cause your mom was ki....never mind." said Sandrah.
"no, its okay, its not like you killed her, it was that rotten baron. anyway, you have to trust me, Sandrah, what do you have to lose? your only family lives in Skytopia. Nia, the baron killed your parents too, you have no family left and you barely make any money here, and Tina.....you....ummm well you can come too. we have nothing to loose and everything to gain.so what do you say?" i tried one last time.
"he has a point" Sandrahj considered to Nia.
"hmmm, good one idiot, you actually got a point there....im in." she said with a smile.
"me too" Sandrah agreed.
we all looked at Tina, but she just nodded and we took that as an "im in too".
"lead the way"nia said stepping aside.
"okay" i said.
