THIS is Li Xingye. She is a very beloved character of mine, having been with me for several years now. But...in those several years, she has yet to obtain the 'happy ending' I have wished for her. You see...Xingye has had a rough life. She started out as a Werewolf the Apocalypse character of mine, and much of her background from that has transferred to her current incarnation.
Xingye started life well enough. Her mother was the 'Judge' of the little shapeshifter 'Court' she was part of, a proud Japanese werewolf in Hong Kong; her father was the head of a rather old and well-respected business family, a Chinese human with werewolf ancestry. The two married, and had children: Xingye and her twin brother Xiaolong. They were raised in the old ways, knowing they were only carriers of werewolf blood, and respectful of their shapechanging 'cousins', whether they were wolf, dragon, fox, or other. They learned from the best Crowshifter and Dragon tutors. Xingye was a quiet, rather shy thing, while Xiao was an outspoken, bright troublemaker.
Everything went wrong on their eleventh birthday. An envoy of their never-heard-from-never-talked-about paternal Grandfather crashed the great party. The corrupt werewolf attacked the children with the intent to kill, and before any of the adults could shift, Xingye found herself at his throat. The next thing she knew, she was sitting there, clothes tattered, the Rage of the werewolf still running through her veins. She was a Werewolf.
Her training was rough. She was a natural Mystic, so some things were easy for her...But she thought herself a monster, unworthy of being what she was. She was afraid to kill, afraid of being smote by the spirits...One Kitsune fixed those fears quickly. Reiko came into her life with a whirl and built the girl back up. They became inseparable soul sisters, and as they grew, they attracted three others to them: Yue Long, a Crowshifter; Hanh, a Dragon; and Anala, a Nagah. The five were sisters by bond, and often performed missions for the 'Court' together. Until disaster struck again.
Xingye's grandfather, Buzhi Dao lu, attacked the five on a routine patrol of the Court's borders, aided by his corrupted packmates. They overcame the five, and dragged them down. Xingye's friends were killed, and she was raped. She wandered for a month after she was released, insane and in wolf form. She was 14 years old.
After she recovered, she vowed to avenge her sisters, and began to train harder. She became gruff, short-tempered, and harsh. She coaxed every power she could from the spirits, learning eagerly and not giving up until she learned properly. Over the next five years, she learned she was infertile, and that she had to stop looking ;female' to get any respect from the men. She rarely talked with her family anymore, especially since her brother was busy being heir to the family business. She also met Chase le'Croix during this time. He was a strange French werewolf born of two werewolves, something that made him infertile and 'deformed': his reflection would always be that of his War-form. The two fought like an old married couple, but stuck to each other like super glue. They felt more whole together. They felt like family.
A year later, Hikarino Yuugi came into their lives. The poor Kitsune had been abused by her parents, unknowing of the importance of her true self, thinking she was nothing more than a demon. Their little family gained a little sister. Another year later, and Xingye became the 'Court's Seer. For another five years, she pushed herself, dividing her time between the 'Court' and her drive for vengeance. And then Fuuko showed up. Another Kitsune that wormed her way into the small 'family's life, insisting on being Xingye's apprentice in the mystical arts. For another two years, Xingye's time became more divided. And then it happened.
At age 27, Xingye got her chance at vengeance. Buzhi Dao lu attacked Chase and Xingye while they were on a mission to regain a lost artifact of the 'Court's. Xingye order Chase to stay back...and she killed her Grandfather after a fight that should have killed her. Chase took her back home, and she has spent time healing, and getting use to life without vengeance. She certainly smiles more...
Yes...that was long. But that is Xingye's history. Now...That's the condensed version. Please DON'T ask me for the long one. But anyways...I want some happy times for Xingye, now that her vengeance has been completed. Maybe someone to settle down with, that understands she'll never have children. Because Chase certainly isn't mate material for her...the man's GAY and proud of it! She often ends up dragging him home after he gets beat up for hitting on one too many straight guys at the bar.
Things about Xingye: she is scarred. VERY. She's blind in her right eye thanks to one set of scars, has claw scars on her right cheek, has one scar going across her throat, has four claw scars across her chest, has numerous small and large scars on her arms and legs, and two long claw scars on her abdomen where her Grandfather tried to gut her. She's also still coming out of the shell she built around herself. Xingye is still snappish, blunt, and sometimes seems lost without her vengeance there to guide her.
