*tries to breathe*
I just did a marathon of DDR playing. @_@ I'm pretty exhausted and I'm all sweaty. I probably should have just waited to take a shower rather than taking one before I played DDR, but I was gross from work and didn't feel like waiting until after getting all sweaty again. xp

Oh, and Tyler (our French SSL) gave me 2 CDs: one from Fort Minor (Linkin Park's Mike Shinoda's solo project) and one by Chronic Future. I had never heard of Chronic Future before, but they don't sound too bad. Fort Minor is pretty much all hip hop and rap, but it's Mike Shinoda, so I love it anyway despite that I don't like that music genre at all.

James and I haven't been able to really talk at all for a few days because of us working and then him hanging out with his best friend. It makes me a little sad, but he promised we'd talk a lot in the next few days, so I've got something to look forward to. 3nodding I wonder how much phone credit he has left...I think he's already used up most of it because of me. xd Last week for three days straight I asked him to call me when I was going to bed so I could talk to him for an hour or so before I fell asleep. Or until he told me I should really go to bed--whichever happened to come first.

I had something else in mind...

Oh yeah! I went to the bank yesterday so I could get my updated balance and I already have enough for a plane ticket! I let James know last night and he's really relieved. Now I can continue saving up for my books when I'm there and the necessities, like money for food and a house/apartment/thingymajigger. We're planning on living with a few others while we're in Melbourne, since apparently the housing market there is ridiculous and you have to be rich to own a house by yourself. And...James and I aren't rich. sweatdrop

I'm glad I'll be able to help out with the financial stuff. I was worried I wouldn't have much money until I got a job there (which I can't do until I start classes) and that we'd be in a bind for money. But luckily I'll have extra to bring there in case something were to happen. And while I'm studying in Melbourne James is going to be training for Safeway to become a manager. He's pretty set on being a manager for Safeway. Whatever makes him happy makes me happy. 3nodding

And I can't wait for November when he finally comes here. whee heart *jumps up and down excitedly*

As according to the agreement between me and my parents, I started searching colleges here in addition to the few I have in mind in Australia. Right now East Carolina University in Greenville, NC seems to be really awesome. So next year I'll probably apply to that school and Penn State and University of Maryland, and probably a few others. I'll be focusing and trying the hardest to get in for the colleges in Australia now. I'm doing everything I can to keep my 4.0 GPA and getting good AP scores (and hopefully good SAT scores when I take the SATs in June) to set myself apart from the rest so I can be like, "See? I'm an amazing international student. ACCEPT MEEEEEE. AND I'M PRETTY! WHAT IS THERE TO LOSE?!"

xd

Oh, and one of my managers was picking on me about my hair today at work. My hair kind of defies ponytails. It gets REALLY frizzy. Blegh. I have to go get that Frizz-Ease shampoo Jocey got me for Christmas. It worked really well. Right now all I have to help me make the frizz go away is the hair straightener, which will only do so much with my hair.

Anyway, now for the song of the moment. xd

"Homesick" by Thirsty Merc

Lotta kids with a homesick view
Deep down I know that I've been homesick too
But something tells me it's all right
I know I'll be back in your arms tonight

I've traveled down some lonely roads
Almost lost my way

I would give all my time
Just to spend my nights with you
I would lay down my fears
Just to spend my years with you
Cause when I'm standing at your door
I don't feel homesick anymore
When I'm standing at your door
I don't feel homesick anymore

And after all is said and done
We've made the most of love

I would give all my time
Just to spend my nights with you
I would lay down my fears
Just to spend my years with you
Cause when I'm standing at your door
I don't feel homesick anymore
When I'm standing at your door
I don't feel homesick anymore

I love that song. As with most of the Thirsty Merc songs James has sent me, this reminds me of him, too. heart Well, other than it kind of sounding like a sad song...Oh well, I think it's sweet.

Ha, my mom just came in from outside. When she was walking past me before I had Fort Minor on and I don't think she likes it very much, but when she came back in I had "Homesick" on and she was like, "Wow, that's really different. It's very pretty." And I just said, "Yeah, they're that one Australian band James got me the signed t-shirt for."

cool heart
