I was surfing Gaia while having lunch and while browsing through the Q&F, I saw a thread entitled: "Mod Abuse: Trigger-happy censorship"
http://www.gaiaonline.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4328641&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0
And like... WHOAAA. Okay man? Like... WHOA. I feel those mods went over the line in deleting all those posts.
The train of thought seems to be saying, "their banter was off-topic and therefore the posts warrant deletion."
And that just seems silly to me. In the mini shops, just how much on-topic discussion do you think there can be? It's a place for monetary commerce so all they're allowed to talk about is their transactions? That seems a little dull. xp
I don't know the nature of the dialogue, but it seems that the post deletions might have been a bit too pre-emptive. Was all the talk one-sided? And if someone comes in who feels very differently about it, well either they're not a regular (otherwise there would have been some sort of friendly compromise) or they're just there to piss someone off. In the latter situation, the thread-owner has the right to kick that person out from the thread.
So what I'm saying is that maybe the mods shouldn't be so hardcore about "on/off-topic-ness" in the mini shops. I mean, for those who don't RP, it's hard to find a place in Barton and in the Commerce. So why not go into the shops and familiarize oneself with the action in there?
Anyways, I hope that Gaia doesn't go to the dogs. I've spent too much of my own ******** money in this site to watch it go down and buuuuurn...

I PM'd her to talk about it though, and it seems like things worked in her favor. So I'm happy 3nodding heart
