Our friend, Mr. G, had four tickets he wasn't going to use so we got free seats to the Jazz Piano Competition. ^^

It was breath taking. Dead serious. I was completely into it, swaying in my seat and all. It was unbelievable. I love the piano anyway but there's something about jazz that just has way more emotion and spirit than classical music. I was also caught off guard by a wave of inspiration.

There were five contestants. The first guy was solid. The second guy was good, but since he played slower songs, he got less cheer from the audience. The third guy was more of a showman than a musician. I liked him until he sent a kiss to the audience. Then he went overboard. The fourth guy was ok... he was obviously trying to hard to be as good as the previous man. He reminded me of a mix between Jim (The Office), Mr. Humphires (Are You Being Served?), and a subterranean gecko. The fifth guy was astounding. His body was all over the place; he was gone into his music. He looked like a Mafia man tho, which freaked me out. x'D

Speaking of look-a-likes. From a profile view, the drummer looked like Ringo (but with more hair) and the bassist resembled my late step-grandfather. It was awesome. x3 AND! While I was watching drummer man I noticed that he had a mini podium next to him where he kept all his different sticks. Like a doctor's instrument tray. >w<

I got a T-shirt I loved it so much. ^^ <3

Saturday

Dad and I went to the Jazz Fest today. It was outside in a big field with snack stands and art booths. It was cool enough, but I was bored and restless for the most part. Eventually, a friend from school found me and we hung out the rest of the time. ^^
