Thoughts, ideas, everyday life and everything between those
My journal is about my thoughts and what goes on my life. I also might post some of my (art) works as well if I manage to get them in digital form someday.

This time, I'm not talking about Gaia but instead the real life. *shock* whee

Anyways, in my school we have a cafeteria. In the cafeteria there's few "fridges" for sodas and drinks. Then we have the counter that has all the other stuff and there's about one meter distance to the end of the counter and the fridges.

Now, usually we trust that you are decent enough that if you take the soda from the fridge you'll pay it in the counter even though seller might not always see you take it. This is common here in Finland I think where people take them selves the stuff they want to buy and then comes to the counter to pay for the items.

Couple weeks ago the seller got information that there's a guy who puts sodas in his pocket and never pays for them. She of course can't say anything before she had solid proof so she asked me to keep an eye on the guy. (The cafeteria is owned by the local student union that I was involved with at some point so that's why she knows to trust me)

So this guy is really creepy one. He always sits by the computer in some class, listens something with his headphones and some times talks or laughs by him self. He never seems to be in any class and no one seems to know in what class he belongs into. (In our school the computer classes are open during the day so anyone can use them if they have the usernames into it)

Anyways today I was sitting in the same classroom as he was. Again he just sat there by him self and seemed to be just surfing around. Around lunch time he got up, put on his jacket (Odd thing to do if you aren't going outside.) and went to cafeteria. I of course followed him from the distance and I saw how he put a coca cola bottle on his jacket pocket. I then followed him to the counter and nodded to the seller. She then confronted him about stealing and at first he tried to explain that he got it from the vending machine. The seller then told that she had witnesses so the boy quickly changed his story that he had "forgotten this time". He was obviously lying and didn't even seem to be sorry about it. He paid the soda to the seller and then left to the class room to sit by his computer again.

For some one who first of all knows the cafeteria seller and knows how hard it is to maintain it in our school, his actions were arrogant and plain rude. I wished that the seller would of called the police, but she said that if we catch him again she will. She hoped that the guy would of learned his lesson, but I doubt it. He was so... emotionless when we caught him, that I don't even want to know what goes in his mind.

I wish he's just odd in a normal way, but I'm going to try and figure out if he's even supposed to be in our school. It's possible that he has old username to the system or he's using the visitor system to get into the computers. Because that seems to be the only thing he does in there all day long from early in the morning to late in the evenings. But I'm glad we caught him. That kind of stuff annoys me since our cafeteria system builds on trust. We have a cup that if the seller isn't around you can pay your purchases there. We trust that you put the correct amount there and so far the system has worked. We'll see if the system has to be changed in order to prevent this kind of stuff to happen in the future.

Thanks Joe. I don't feel like I changed anything though. He didn't learn anything about it and I'm sure it wasn't the first or the last time he'll be doing that. He just got caught this time, but I really doubt it's going to make him stop. He didn't apologies or he didn't even seem to be sorry about it. I saw it in his face that he thought the situation to be just bad luck that he got caught. *sigh*
