Undo the strings attaching me to myself
This journal doesn't follow a set thing. I write about whatever whenever. Want me to discuss something, send me a PM and I will write about it in here.
-Jack and Murphy discuss parenting-
"Children need to know where they stand in the family and if you allow them to back talk then they don't get the real message." Murphy said. Jack sighed, knowing that Murphy was wrong...again.

"While that may be, a parent should know how to do that without causing emotional or phsyical damage. A child who gets that when they are young will never be fully normal." Jack sighed. He stirred his coffee with a small red straw. Murphy laughed and he gave him an odd look. "What?"

"For once I agree with you there." Jack joined in on the light laughter because it was a rare thing for the two to agree on anything.

"My parents were nice enough to me but it did kind of cause me to feel superior. Then when I saw how other parents taught their children I knew my parents were a little less caring about my attitude. What about yours, Jack?" Murphy took a gulp of his drink and faced Jack. His friend was smiling sadly while slowly stirring his drink.

"My parents are the reason I am. Growing up I watched as my father threw things around and had the cops called on him. I watched my mother go through depression and she needed anger management. I saw my dad hit my older brother and watched as those two fought all the time." Murphy's eyes were slightly wide as Jack continued. "I fought with the man too and I watched as he cheated on my mom and she didn't even care. She was just using him. and I had my mother blame almost everything on me. But then I snapped when I saw my father..."

"When you saw him what?" Murphy was enthralled in the story. Jack looked up from his drink, tears in his eyes.

"I snapped when I saw my father hit my baby sister. I was 16 and she was 10. I started to scream at him and then I hoisted my little sister on my shoulder and took off toward my brother's apartment. He had left a year ago but made sure him and I kept in contact because of our parents. When I got there he took us in and then we went to court so that he could be our gaurdians until we were out of school. That was 12 years ago and I haven't seen my parents since." Jack sighed deeply.

"Did they ever try to contact any of you?" Murphy asked. He was so surprised his friend had gone through that.

"Yeah they kept trying to contact Sara, my little sister because they knew neither my brother or myself would even say a word to them. We wouldn't let Sara talk to them either. Now I see my siblings almost every week because we all live in the same neighborhood. Sara's happy for the most part and John, my older brother, well he finally found a woman and has children. They are the happiest children I think I've ever seen." Jack smiled and took a small sip of his coffee. Murphy had a smile on his face too.

"I'm glad you got out 'cause you turned into a great pyschiatrist." Murphy said. Jack laughed lightly but then frowned.

"Now to get the others out."
