I strongly felt this CD needed a review of the Rupel sorts.
This is the part where I will have to explain some of this albums history and what big changes in the band after it...This is CC's 4th studio album, and is the first to feature new Guitarist Rob Barrett. It was realesed in 1994 and is CC's best selling album. After this album lead singer Chris Barnes left the band and was replaced with George "Corpsegrinder' Fisher. and now this is your review by Rupel...
To start this review I'd like to say that this has to be one of the best Death Metal albums I've ever heard...the vocals are strong and have I have no problem understanding them at times...the guitar is as usual quick and to the point...drums are just blast beats and bland...and of course the best for last the bass is probably one of the best parts of Cannibal Corpse's instrumentations in my opinion. Yet this album has more of a Groove Metal sound to it..which is a good thing in my opinion. So music wise this album gets a 8/10 the only flaws are the drums blast beats and the repetive sound of the guitars on some tracks.
The lyrics are one of the best parts of this album and they are witty at times and other times are just gruesome. this has caused many of my friends to deem this album rude, crude and just plain wrong. Yet the main reason why I like Cannibal Corpse in the first place is the LYRICS. They are an anthem of gruesome horror stories that deserve respect among the music community. Of course the lyrics get a fair 10/10.
So all together this album gets a 9/10 making it a good choice for people craving awesome Death Metal...
