I entered this in a contest and to my surprise won.
The Forgotten
The sands of time can not be stopped,
th years pass by
whether we will them or not...
but we can remember them.
What was lost
may yet live
in our memories and our hearts.
The stories may be fragmented and short
yet we should treasure them.
For without those in the stories
the ones that fought,
we do not exist.
Life would not be the same...
so remember them.
A memory of those forgotten
is hidden in a dreamy haze
that only lies behind us
and does not stick with us...
a memory of the forgotten.
The past may have good memories and bad ones
yet we must remember them all...
remember the ones that gave their lives
Those are the forgotten ones.
