My Sweet Sam
Today, my class went on a field trip downtown to the Arizona Memorial, a place where we remember Pearl Harbour and the people who died during the bombing. We watched a short film clip, (well not that short, it was 23 minutes), went on a boat ride to the memorial, looked over the edge and looked at sunken ships and rising oil (it's been coming out of the ships for 67 years now...) and looked at names of people who died that day. It was depressing.
After the tour, people lined up to take pictures and get autographs from Pearl Harbour survivors. I met this really nice old man who gave me his autograph. I loved him, he was so cute. I love how he signs things. He writes, "Hi, (yourname)!" then his name. I will cherish that forever.
After the memorial, we went to Punchbowl in a really big graveyard where Pearl Harbour victims were buried. We had to fill out a worksheet with a partner with information about the bombings and such, then we played around a bit.
Finally, we went to a park near our school and had lunch. After spending some time there, we walked back to school. The trip was sort of fun, but Emily wasn't there, so I sat alone on the bus...
Meanwhile, I was wearing my NEW Johnny Depp glasses, which were sunglasses with the lenses popped out, and they look JUST like Johnny's!!!
