Chapter 16
Kitty was kidnapped by a Slayer and taken to a cave far from her friends. The Slayer revealed himself to her and introduced himself as Shouta Yurei, a Master Slayer, which is the highest rank and possibly the most dangerous of all Slayers.
Kitty: First this guy kidnaps me, then he talks to me, and now he unmasks himself. Just what exactly is he up to?
Shouta: *smiles* So, aren't you gonna tell me your name, young dragon?
Kitty: O.O *stares at him* How does he know what I am?
Shouta: What's wrong? Is there something on my face?
Kitty: WHAT ARE DOING?!
Shouta: Excuse me?
Kitty: You're a Slayer. You're not supposed to talk to me or unmask yourself.
Shouta: *laughs a little* You're right. Oops, looks like I'm not doing a good job as a Slayer after all.
Kitty: Uh...... This guy's weird. So, did you just save me back there?
Shouta: Yup.
Kitty: But why?
Shouta: Cuz I don't believe innocent beings like you deserve to die, especially if you didn't do anything wrong. We Slayers should be destroying the evil ones, not making other species extinct. At least, that's what I believe.
Kitty: Well, if that's what you think, then why did you become a Slayer?
Shouta: When you're born into a family of Slayers, you're automatically destined to become one. *sits down* Even if you don't want to be one.
Kitty: *sits besides him* Well that doesn't seem fair.
Shouta: It isn't..... But enough about me, what's your story? Judging by your clothes, you're not from around here.
Kitty: Well, I came all the way from Japan to find my cousin, who I haven't seen in years.
Shouta: Why did your cousin ran away from home?
Kitty: It's a long story...
Shouta: Tell me.
While Kitty was talking to Shouta; Sentaro, Ryo, Bella and Edward regrouped at their spot.
Ryo: So, did you kill all your Slayers?
Bella: Yup, plus a bit more.
Sentaro: Wait. *looks around* Where's Kitty and Nero?
Bella: They haven't came back yet?
Ryo: Maybe something's wrong. Better see if they need help. *pulls out his Sending Stone from his pocket, focusing his energy into it, the stone glows bright blue light* Kitty, are you there? *no answer* She's not answering. Maybe these things are broken.
Sentaro: Or maybe someone's using a spell to block the reception.
Ryo: Looks like we should go looking for them.
Nero: ONIICHAN!!! *runs through some bushes*
Bella: It's Nero-chan!
Nero: Oniichan! *tackles glomps Sentaro*
Sentaro: *gets knocked down* OW! Take it easy, kid.
Nero: *crying* WAAAHHH!!! Oniichan, the bad guys got Kitty, the bad guys got Kitty! *hugs him tightly*
Ryo: What?!
Bella: Oh no!
Sentaro: Calm down everyone. If they took Kitty alive, then at least we still have a chance to rescue her.
Edward: Then let's go find her.
Ryo: Right!
Sentaro, Ryo, Nero, Bella and Edward ran in the direction where Kitty was last seen.
Nero: *as he runs, he looks back and sees a Slayer at the distance with a bow and arrow, aiming at Sentaro* Oniichan, look out!
Sentaro: *gasps, turns around*
Before the Slayer could fire, a silver-haired woman appeared behind him and slashed his head off with her katana.
Bella: Whoa! Who's she?
Ryo: *looking scared* R-Ryuna-sensei!
Sentaro: How did she find us?!
Ryo: Who cares? We're in trouble! Time to haul a**! *runs off along with Sentaro*
Ryuna: *appears in front of them, grabs them and beats them up*
Ryo: OW OW OW!
Sentaro: OW! Dammit!
Ryuna: Why didn't you kids tell me you were leaving?!
Sentaro: We're sorry, sensei. *gets up slowly*
Ryo: *gets up slowly* But Kitty made us promise not to tell you.
Ryuna: *sighs* Can't you boys for once break your promises? I was worried sick.
Bella: Hey, aren't you the Immortal of Envy or something?
Ryuna: Yes, I am. And who are you?
Bella: I'm Bella, this is Edward and Nero.
Ryuna: Pleased to meet you. *looks around* So, where's Kitty?
Ryo: Well..... *laughs nervously* Funny story, really.
Sentaro: We're sorry sensei, but she was taken alive by the Slayers.
Ryuna: WHAT???!!! *snarls, red aura engulfs her*
Ryo: WAH! C-Calm down sensei! We were just gonna go look for her.
Ryuna: If those bastards make Kitty spill blood, I WILL KILL THEM! *roars*
Elsewhere, Kitty told Shouta what happened between her and her cousin Chita.
Shouta: Oh my...... what a story.
Kitty: Uh huh. *cries* Even if I can find Chita-neechan, I'm not sure she'll forgive me. Also, I'm afriaid that what happened to me that night, could happen again. *sniff* Hey Shouta-kun, can you promise me something?
Shouta: Depends. What is it?
Kitty: If I ever go rogue, if my dragon blood ever boils with rage.... I want you to kill me.
Shouta: Hmm..... *stands up* No.
Kitty: WHAT?! *stands up* Why?! I'm a monster! It's your job to slay me!
Shouta: *angrily* Even after I saved your butt, you still think I'm like those heartless bastards?
Kitty: Uh.... n-no..... Sorry.
Shouta: *sighs* It's all right. I apoligize for yelling. Hmm..... How 'bout this? Instead of promising me to slay you when you lose it, I try to find a way to save you from your darkness.
Kitty: Y-You'd really do that for me?
Shouta: Of course. *puts his hand on her shoulder* From now on, don't think of me as your Slayer. Instead, think of me as your Savior.
Kitty: *teary* Sh-Shouta-kun......
Man's voice: Aw, how sweet. Two kids making sappy promises. Isn't that adorable?
Shouta: Someone's outside. Kitty, wait here. I'll take care of our intruder. *runs out of the cave*
Kitty: That voice....
Shouta ran out of the cave and sees a man carrying a huge axe over his shoulders. He had short brown hair and hazel eyes.
Shouta: *takes out his left black scimitar Jigoku* Who are you?
Man: *evil smile* Name's Lazarus Zyhal. People know me as Sinner number four: the Immortal of Greed.
Shouta: An Immortal?! *sees Kitty out of the cave* Hey, I told you to stay inside.
Kitty: That voice... *red aura engulfs her* That voice was the one who said all those hateful things to me 5 years ago. Because of you, everyone fears me and I've lost someone precious to me. *takes out her magic staff Charlemagne* AND YOU'RE GONNA PAY!!! *roars*
