So... I'm not going to AX... it's hard to even say. I can't see the fireworks on the beach after all I suppose...
Many of my friends won't be around so it's not like I can celebrate with them. I'm thinking of going to the festival this year. I mean, it's not as good as sparklers, yukatas, festival food and all... but they DO have glowsticks. Maybe I could even find pink.
---
So the trip, eh? The trip of Dai's bad luck. I hurt myself epicly many times. Most of which were hitting my head or tripping which are discluded. Only the bigger injuries are mentioned. But fun in all I think. There was a lot of fights amongst my family but we did alright in the end.Day 1: Driving driving driving until really late because we got a late start. (had a huge fight before the trip that I don't wish to disscuss)Day 2: We pink'd my hair really intensely. They were out of the brand I was using so we had to mix a color with purple but it came out brighter than ever before.
Another fight because I made us late taking too long to get ready...
Then was the party for my grandfather's birthday. There were 40+ of us there. That was fun. They had hired dealers and rented tables and we all gambled with fake money. My family competes for blood so it was really loud and intense. Loads of fun when I finally worked up the courage to start. I ended up losing $140 though... and ended up with less money than what we started as.
We also revealed what my dad's present for Fathers' Day was... SURFING LESSONS~!!Day 3: We picked up my grandmother and took her to lunch. She wasn't really stable, but we did go shopping afterwards at the dollar store! I bought some glowsticks for the next couple of days.
We got to the camp site and fought a lot more, mostly about which place we were going to take at the camp site... oy... I went to cool off and walked the 2 miles to the ocean. It wasn't a great view because of all the crap, but the sun set just when I got there and I managed to snap a good picture.
It's a little big:
ps: the ranger was cute ♥
What's bad though, is that the day I took so long to get ready I burned my finger really badly on my straightening iron... and I'd just gotten new jeans and the zipper cut me on the opposite hand. I pulled up the zipper with the uncut hand, thinking I'd outsmarted that stupid zipper... but alas, I forgot about the bad burn and the blister popped! OWWW.
But that's not the worst of it. I went outside where the lantern (propane) was and tried to turn it brighter so I could see my burn better. I put my hand onto the metal top of the lantern was and pumped it to make it brighter. Only thing is... IT WAS HOT. I burned the inside palm of my entire left hand. Part of it was 2nd degree. Big blister in the middle where the tip was. Guh. It had to be wrapped.
This picture is from like... three days later. It's still bad though.
Day 4: We ended up having to unpack and repack things a lot before we decided fully. We finally found a place that was a secluded spot in the middle of a huge gathering of trees. But the next day we found out that we were camped in the Kingdom of the Squirrels. They were everywhere. And they were not shy. I swear I saw at least 21 at the same time around us. Now, I like squirrels, but this was a little scary. We even saw the fattest one and named him the 'Squirrel King.' Yeah... crazy, I know.
Anyways, this day we mostly relaxed. The craziest part was going all over California looking for a wireless signal so we could cancel AX... stressful. More fights.
This was my parent's anniversary night, so we went out for sushi at this little place that had huge ugly fish in tanks. Yikes, huh? It was right at the bay. That was nice. More fights. There was this yucky sushi with massive amount of roasted garlic on it. Unfortunately, I got really sick and had a really bad migrane and was miserable until I finally faded to sleep. I had some octopus sushi though~! ♥Day 5: My dad has his lesson and then we went to a wharf. We went to a cool mini aquarium type thing. It was great. I love aquariums. With a huge passion. Here's my favorite picture from there. I left it the original size.
Later we also took a small cruise tour and saw sea lions. My phone died around this point, haha. I have pictures but they're not on my compy. Not really important anyways. xD Day 6: We packed up and headed for Little Tokyo. Spent the day there. I did some shopping and stuff. I got something I really really wanted and was going to get at AX. I didn't think I'd find it here, but I did! Here's a picture of my brand new Hatsune Miku Vocaloid figure, along with my hand which is still wrapped...
Ate more sushi of course. We also stopped in a Mexican district and ate MORE ethnic food. And yes, I forgot to mention a couple other times in previous days that we had sushi, haha.
The great this is that in a super market there I found my life's desire. Onigiri~!! ♥
It was just like in the pictures of 7-11s in Japan. I was ecstatic and proceeded to buy plenty and taste new flavors. They also had cute premade bentos there that made me want to have a cute-attack.
It was good to stay in a hotel that night. I was getting scared that the Squirrel King was gonna eat the entire tent. He was the fattest squirrel I've ever seen...Day 7: We stayed in Little China above an herbal shop, haha. Little China was way different from Little Tokyo. Oddly enough there were actually more anime/jpop stores in Little China than in Little Tokyo. Ironic, huh? We ate Chinese food, duhr. And drove home pretty late after shopping a bunch. It's gotten late and I'm getting lazy with details. Oh well. This is a long enough entry.
---Misc.I could rant about my recent lovu lovu life has been but I don't feel like it. Muahaha... I'm really tired. x_x;
I'm going out of town again soon, but only for 4 days. It's not going to be update-worthy though, so don't worry. This was probably one of the biggest trips of this summer so I'm not going to rant again like this any time soon.
I've been hooked on Zettai Kareshi (a japanese drama based on an anime) and I'm waiting for more subbed eppis. Two to go. Yar.
This is my new wallet that my mom found in the very last SanRio store in Arizona: (it just has some stuff in japanese) ((With a separately purchased hello kitty zipperpull))
That's all now, folks. I promise...
for now. ;D
