I was a little kid when i last saw episodes, so all that remains of the show is scattered images and a general impression of the characters. As a result, i can't make comparisons.

The movie was a bit meh. Not aweful, even occasionally funny, but didn't quite manage as either a spy movie or a spy movie spoof. The tone just never jelled. I loved Mr. Arkin particularly, and the techies were charming. (It was so nice to see Hiro's actor getting jobs.) I just found the Hathaway/Correll combo uninteresting and bland. The plot was super predicable. The stuff with the President simply didn't work. They either needed to go all out on the parody or play it straight, but doing the occasional random Bush joke didn't do it. In retrospect, this highlights what was wrong with the movie as a whole: they made a half hearted attempt at parody instead of just running with it.
