Insightful Rambles Most of these are just my comments for the moment, just however I feel. Do not be alarmed at what you may find inside. Extreme noobishness, and immaturity at some points. You have been warned. Don't be surprised if I sound stupid :]

Are we losing touch with ourselves?
Constantly, in todays world, technology is evolving and growing. We have ipods, cellphones, computer controlled satellites. Even things like farm equipment, are increasingly being helped with computers. Computers are technology that is a double edged sword. I believe that something like that will increase our efficiency, to make us better at what we do ourselves and make it as near-perfect as possible. But what about those skills that we have? That are "obsolete" by the computers? We are losing those and might never get those back because "inferior" to computers. What if those assistance techs are gone? Then we are worse off then where we started because we lost something, not gained. We need to go out and practice things that we can do ourselves, and a quite an easy example is a calculator and basic math. Calculators are everywhere, and yes, we can't do it all, but more of late, we have lost the skills to do basic math in our head, when it is more easier to reach over and grab a calculator. At least that's what I've seen. So I guess the moral message of the day is to go out and do something that can be done with the human body and mind, even if it easier with technology, such as my previous example of a calculator.

Oh, and this brings up another point actually. Have you seen the movie Wall-E? It's actually really good. Simply, I quote my friend here, "You can't go wrong with robot love." and amazingly enough, it's quite true in this case. It's a good movie. Anyway, what was in there, and the future portrayed for us was bleak. We humans are going to be fat, obese people who don't interface with the people around us, but instead talk to them on the computer. What the hell is up with that? Texts, IMs, results of technology that is destroying our very social network. It may be minute now, but it's definitely there. A classmate brought this up in a speech actually. What happened before we had cellphones? We had plans. Did you know, with cellphones, more people are late to different appointments everyday, than ever before? It's because we can just call and say, "hey I'm going to run a bit late today." and that's it! People are taking less responsibility for their time, and we should change that. Change starts small, and with yourself first. I'm going to try and set one day aside where I won't use if I don't have to, technology, like cell-phones.

Technology is awesome, and is great, but I think that if we rely on it too much, then it's going to disastrous for us in the future.
