...or so it would seem.
Today was officially our last day of summer vacation. But for me, summer vacation was over a long long time ago.
Well, maybe not necessarily over... but it wasn't the usual sleeping in late and staying on the computer all waking hours. It was different. I actually did stuff. So, technically, I think that I had a great vacation... even though it meant I actually had to do stuff.
Looking back on my summer, I think that it was the greatest I've ever had. The only things that could have made it better would be to have alittle more freedom from my father and to hang out with my friends much more than I did. I think I actually hung out with my little brother's friends more than I hung out with my own. How sad is that? sweatdrop
Anywho, today was fun.
Woke up early for band... there is nothing I'd rather wake up that early for. But yeah, thanks to that Hurricane Katrina our rehearsal got rained out and we ended up just sitting around the band room playing. Which, of course, hasn't done us any good. We really need to get out onto the field and I'm not just being a perfectionist.
Oooh, and after band (at 8ish) we were just hanging around outside, waiting for our raincoats to be distributed, and you'll never guess who we saw. You know, I haven't seen that guy in so long it's not even funny. It's like he just disappeared all summer... the darn recluse. 4laugh Anyway, with the help of Trina and Eric, I managed to hang around and semi-participate in their conversation. *sigh* It was great.
It put me in quite a good mood. Mat and I used the artpad at art.com to create weird pictures. It was fun, though we scared the crap out of everyone I showed them too. Well, all except for Daniel. He joined. blaugh
We actually spent the better part of the day doing that because I didn't have to leave for cross country until 3ish. And that was hell, as always. We ran through the upper field and snaked around the mock-football field and soccer fields and then weaved through the trees and back to our starting point. It was hard. So hard, that everyone did three easy laps and three hard laps and I only managed two of each.
And if that wasn't bad enough, the j.v. football and the highschool soccer teams were both practicing up there. gonk So yeah, they all saw me running... I just barely ran the whole 4 laps.
Damn, it's hard.
Yay... first day of school tomorrow! I've been waiting for this for sooooo long. Like, since the end of last school year.
And now, if you'll excuse me, I must go and prepare myself mentally for tomorrow.
