[Melanctha's Thoughts] 1,200 years ago, the war of all wars between the Angels and the Devils had come to a cliffhanger of an ending. Mira, the Angel and Maura, the Devil went to sign a peace treaty on Earth. To finally end the war. The girls, actually twins had been trapped on Earth. An immense amount of spiritual energy was released, destroying both of their physical bodies.
Now there's an ancient legend that the Angel and Devil's souls wonder this world and inhabbit powerful souls that allow room for their own. Which once both souls have a body capable to contain them, they will track each other down to do battle once more. The sisters as they say believe that the other had betrayed one another, this is why they still wonder today.
Mira as they say was a goddess, even amongst all the other angels. Long, golden hair that was held in two pigtails on the side of her head, deep blue eyes that resembled the ocean and she had cherry red lips.
Then there was Maura. Devilish as they came. Her hair the same length and style as her sister, but a dark purple, nearly black color, crimson eyes liked dried blood and lips painted black as the night time sky.
The girls were complete oposites from how the story was told, but if that was so, why did they not kill one another? Instead of trying to sign a peace treaty with the two sides.
I should really stop listening to Grandpa when he tells me all these stories. I doubt any of them are really true... I mean seriously, Angels and Devils doing battle and coming to Earth? Wondering vengeful spirits? As if..
[Melanctha] "Oh no! I'm gonna be late!" I shouted as I pulled my left shoe on, hopping down the stairs. Grabbing my lunch box and bookbag out of the kitchen as I ran through. "Love ya, Gramps!" I hollered as I flew out the door, leaving it wide open.
"I wish for once she'd close the door... That or wake up early enough so she wouldn't be late.." The old man sighed as he closed the door and watched his granddaughter run out of sight. When he finally lost view of her he closed the door and went back to sweeping the kitchen. "These kids today..."
I continued running at full speed, ignoring the people shouting at me to slow down. I think I knocked a few vendors and their stands over. Ocassionally I'd shout an 'excuse me', 'sorry', 'look out!' at people just to warn them.
Next thing I knew I was on the ground, the papers in the guys arm flying out at me as I fell to the ground. It felt like forever before I finally hit the ground and there was no sound at all. Next thing I knew, everything was gone.
[Akuji] "Help! Someone help!" I started freaking out, checking the girl's pulse and everything. "Hey, hey, are you there? Kid?" She looked familiar... She goes to my school, no wonder. She's a grade lower than me. "Hey..." I shook her gently. "... Melan..ctha?" I didn't know how to pronounce her name. It was so complicated for me. "Get up, please.. get up." I shook her again. I knew she was still alive, she had a pulse, but it was a bit slow.
People that passed just stared at me and her. Wondering what was going on, but no one was doing anything. Just staring and laughing at how stupid I must've looked. I picked up my papers and stuffed them in my bag, swung it over my back. Then looked the girl over once more. She was bleeding on the back of her head. "s**t.." I mumbled and lifted her up into my arms and carried her off to the hospital.
"So is she going to be all right?" I asked the doctor, glancing back over at Melanctha.
"She'll be fine, just give her some rest. I'm sure she'll be up soon. You could stay here if you'd like, or you could go back to school, young man." The doctor informed me.
"I still feel a bit worried for her... I'll stay here." I replied and sat back down on the chair next to her bed. I didn't really enjoy being in the hospital at all. The smell was sickening, and all the white walls made you feel as though you've already died. I shivered at that thought and watched the doctor leave the room.
"Why did you help me?" Melanctha turned her head over to look at me. I didn't reply, I just sat there looking at her. Why would anyone bother asking such a stupid question?
"If I didn't no one else would have... Not to mention, I was the one that knocked you over. Oh, which I'm sorry for!" She chuckled and looked right into my eyes. Her own eyes, one blue the other one crimson felt as though they were piecring into my soul. "W-what are you doing?" I asked as she sat up, "The doctor said you should rest." I got up about ready to force her to lay back down, but she stared at me with those eyes and I quickly sat back down.
"You're so foolish. Doctor's don't know a thing about what to do. They only know a few things. Some people don't need to rest like others." She cracked her knucles. "I will thank you however for helping me. You're the first person to ever help me besides my family... Everyone else avoided me. They thought I was different. I'm just like everyone else.. I just have two different colored eyes..." She sighed.
"Don't feel bad about your eyes. I think they're-..." I paused, afraid if I should speak what I thought or not. She simply grabbed her bag and headed out the door. "Hey! Wait for me!" I grabbed my bag as well and headed out the door after her. "You know, you really shouldn't be rushing around so much..." I breathed deep as I walked beside her, catching my breath.
"Like I care, I got places to go. Ya know? I would go to school, but there's only an hour left. So I don't really care. I'll just get the work I missed tomorrow." She started walking faster.
"Hey, if you don't have anything to do... Would you like to go get something to eat?" I picked up my pace as well and grabbed her hand, causing her to stop moving and look at me. "I know a great resturant a few blocks away." I grinned.
"As if I'd go with you!" She jerked her hand away and slapped me. Definitely an ego killer. And she slaps hard as hell. But she's so worth it...
"Ouch!" I yelped. "You sure you don't want to go? I'll pay i-..." I blinked, she was gone. Completely out of sight. I'd just try again tomorrow.
[Melanctha] I ran all the way home, even when it started to rain. The run took me nearly twenty minutes. Twisting and turning through all the alleys and old streets no one remembered existed. I got home and kicked my shoes off, then pulled off my socks, dropping all of the items next to the door. "I'm home, Grandpa!" I shouted and headed up the stairs to my room.
I opened the pitch black door that had all the different signs on it. The "Police Line Do Not Cross" stood out the most. "I can't believe that guy." I shook my head. Trying to get rid of the image of his smile out of my head. "God, he's so annoying. He knocked me over and then he had the nerve to ask me to go out and eat with him!" I shouted as I fell to my knees and picked up my cat up. He simple looked up at me and yawned. "Namir, you're so useless." I stared at him before dropping him on the ground. He meowed once more and scampered under my bed.
I hummed to myself as I got back up. "I've still got three hours until dinner..." I sighed. Clueless as to what to do now.
"Mreow.." Namir came out from under the bed, with a bottle of black fingernail polish in his mouth. "Mreeeeooowwww.." He layed the bottle next to my feet.
"Hey, that's a good idea." I smiled to him and picked the bottle up then headed over to my bed, setting a small desk up next to it. I set down my fingernail clippers, nail file, and buffer down on the desk. Then I went to work.
.-:[.A.N.H.O.U.R.L.A.T.E.R.]:-. "Jeg gjort!" I shouted as I stared at my black painted toe nails and fingernails.
"Mel, there's someone on the phone for you!" Grandpa shouted up the stairs.
"Tell them I'm not here!" I shouted back down at him. "Tell them I ran away or something!"
"Okay... suit yourself, even though the person is a guy. He sounds very interested in you too." He shouted once again.
"... Him again," I growled, "Fine, I'll answer the phone." I got up and stomped down the stairs, snatching the phone off the kitchen counter. "Hello?" I said into the phone in my most annoyed tone.
"Hello again!" the voice on the other end said cheerfully.
"What are you so happy for!" I shouted at him, "Better yet, how the hell did you get my number!" I yelled even louder.
"Calm down, calm down. I got your number when I was going through your bag for your identity... I know, it's pretty nosy, but please, don't be mad at me. I wanted to make up for today still... How about I take you shopping? Or maybe you'd rather take the dinner offer again?" He asked, still sounding calm.
"You've got to be kidding me..." I mumbled. "
"Okay... How about I take you out tomorrow night, to the club my band and I have a gig at? Would that be better?" He asked happily.
"You're in a band...? What's your band called? What club?" I asked, actually happy for once.
"I see your excited now." I could pratically here the smile on his face from the other end. "Alright, the band I'm in is called The Paper Airplanes and the club we're playing at tomorrow is called Under Ground Thrills."
"W-what!?! You're in The Paper Airplanes?! Nu uh... Wait a minute.. No wonder you're so familar.. You're their guitarist, aren't you?"
"Yea, that'd be me. Akuji the guitarist. I also do vocals for a few songs. And I also go to your school... Although you probably can't see me through the rampaging fan girls that are all over me at times." He let out a sigh.
"Oh..." I smiled. "Okay, I'll accept your offer. I'll go with you tomorrow."
"I'm glad you've accepted my offer," he smiled, "I'll meet you between 4th and 5th street at five o'clock sharp, okay?"
"Sure."
"I'll make sure that you're up right next to the stage, or maybe even sitting on the stage." He grinned. "See you tomorrow."
"See ya." I put the phone back down on the hook and ran back upstairs.
"Hmm, maybe this boy's the one." Grandpa sat down on the couch in the living room, picking his book back up. "Just maybe."

[Melanctha] I woke up happily this afternoon, slipping my feet daintly into my slippers and heading downstairs. "Hey Grandpa, I'm going out today later today." I said as I stared at the clock, it was already one o'clock.
"That's nice, dear." He replied calmly as he poured me a cup of coffee and himself his second cup. I smiled to him and took my cup from his witherd hands.
"Thank you." I said and sat down at the table, sipping at my coffee, not bothering to add cream or sugar today. I sighed.
"So, what exaclty are you going out for?" He asked me.
"I'm going to a concert." I replied, taking a gulp of my coffe.
"Really now... With who?"
"The boy on the phone from last night..." Man I was getting annoyed by his questions. If he ask one more.. I might snap... I should've added some cream to this coffee.
"And his name is...?"
"His name is Akuji. Okay?"
"Akuji?..."
"Yea, his name is Akuji."
"Did I ever tell you the rest of that old legend?"
I glared at the old man, "No."
"Well, there was a young man named Akuji in that legend. He was a mere mortal and met the two sisters when they came to Earth. He was friendly and tried to warn them about the Devil that planned to destroy them both for trying to stop the war peacefully. So he was slaughtered. Causing both the Angel and Devil to become sad. And in the legend they say this man becomes reincarnated after each time he dies and always gets reincarnated into a child that gets named Akuji. And each time he is reincarnated, he somehow meets up with the Angel or Devil and doesn't even k- Are you even listening to me!?!!" He shouted.
"Yea yea.. More about the Angel and Devil stuff.." I sighed and ran my fingers through a strand of blonde hair I had. It was weird. Most of my hair was black, but then there was the two blonde streaks next to my face only. The weirdest part, I was born that way. Hmm.. "Oh! Look at the time! It's 2 o'clock. I need to go get a new outfit and take a shower and fix my hair and and! Oh, all sorts of things!" I got up quickly and took off upstairs to get ready.
"So... He is the one."
.-:[.A.N.H.O.U.R.L.A.T.E.R.]:-. I glanced at the clock, becomming overly excited. It was now two thirty. I have a while to go though. Plenty of time to find just the right outfit and then take a shower and get completely ready. My eyes went over all the stores down the side walk, then froze when I saw this one in particular. La maison de Ruine, I stared at the sign... No idea what that means.. Nope.. But the clothing here looks spiffy. Might as well go in.
I opened the door slowly, letting my ears adjust to the noise that was coming from inside. The music here sounded as though someone was in pain and agony and letting out their emotions by playing the tune on an old violin. I blinked and scampered across the store, staring at a black and red skirt. "Find anything you like, doll?" The voice startled me and I jumped.
"Y-yes, ma'am. I did find something I like, but I'm still going to browse around a bit more..." I replied and looked the woman over. She appeared to be in her mid twenties, wearing a knee length black skirt, black and white stockings, a pair of black boots, and a corset top with a white lace at the top.
"Good good, as long as you find something you like, and maybe make a purchase then Everything's Jake. Business has recently become a wet blanket. Not as many children these days have a taste for good fashion, ya know?"
"Yea, no kidding..." I blinked, why was her speech so strange?
"I'll be in the back for a little bit, just holler when you're ready."
"Okay." I replied and watched her skitter off. She must be one of those people that are as strange as they come.
