He was usually hanging out with his friends, him mom or dad would tell me.
So today I was going to try it again. But before I called I wrote down A whole page of things to talk about if he answered. It was in this blank paged book I found.
Just so you know, evrytime I'm about to call him I totally freak out, I get so nervous!! And I always hesatate to press the send button after I punched in his number.
When I called him I heard someone pick up, I asked if Alex was there... and I was totally expecting someone to say he wasn't there.
And someone said " this is him " Oh crap what was I going to say next!!! So I opened my book and looked down the list of things to say.
And then I said " Hey Alex this is Brooklyn" wow that was so hard to say. This was a no brainer, your supposed to say who you are when ever you call someone.
And I totally forgot about it!! Then I heard him say "could you hold on for a second" I said "ok", I heard him walking through his house, then I heard a door shut.
I thought to myself, "mabie he went to his room, and closed his door so he could talk to me. And if he did, then that would meen... Cool he wants to talk to me, and he went to his room in case we talked for a long time!!"
I heard him say "K, I'm back." Then I said "How was your summer?" I wasn't even listening to what he was saying, because I was to busy thinking about how embaressing I just was.
And how I totally forgot to say who I was, when I called him. And I had to open a Book to figure it out.
All the sudden I heard him say "Why did you call?" I told him that I called him because I was babysitting my lil brother, and he fell asleep while watching Dora the explorer, so I wanted to talk to him.
Then he said "seriously!!" I said "ya, in fact I can hear the theme song for Dora The Explorer right now as we speak. smile " He Said " you should put on a scary movie, that way when he wakes up he will be really scared. " I laughed and said " I would but its to bad I'm a nice person, most of the time smile "
He laughed, well we both laughed really hard. Then I said, "so what are you up to right now?" And he said "uh, duh!! I'm talking to you." I quickly said "Oh ya, right..." Ta Da another embaressing moment for me!! How about we keep score, I have 2 embaressing moments so far, and he has 0. So far I'm loosing.
I tryed to get off subject "So what movies have you seen this summer Alex?" He said "Pirates of the carribian 3" I asked if it was good. He said that it was ok. I asked if he watches Harry Potter? He said "sometimes I do. But it is sometimes hard to tell what their saying with their english accent"
Then I asked "Have you been anywhere cool this Summer?" He asked "Have you" I said "Well there's this cool hiking trail by my house, and I like to go up there sometimes. I even have my own little secret place up there that I found. You go down this one part of the trail and there's this Bridge, and if you go over it you see more to the trail. And instead of taking the trail you go into the trees. And oh my gosh its so amazing!!" Then he said "Wow, well I dont have anything like that.
Just then I heard the garase opening!! My mom was home!! I told Alex that I really had to go, and that my mom was home and stuff so we had to stop talking. He said "Ok mabie we could talk later?" I said "Ya that would be cool!! I'm sorry I have to go I wish we could talk some more." He said "Ya me to, c ya Brook" I said goodbye. Then hung up the phone and put it down.
It was perfect timing cause thats when my mom came through the door.
