I laugh because I'm too embarrassed
to admit that's all true.
I laugh to keep myself from crying
because i've taken it too seriously.
I laugh because I want to run away
and hide from everything.
I laugh to keep myself grounded
in what is going on.
I laugh because I can hide
and noone sees the hurt
I laugh to keep my spirits up
to keep from falling down.
