Okay....on the Bradley side of my life....we have MANY traditions! And many of them pertain to age. So here are some of the key ones that one will go through in the Bradley Family--

Age Five (Upon starting your journey through school) -- Receive a pendent with the family crest and your name.

Age 13 ( I personally liked this one!) -- You get to sit and listen as Great-Grandpa Bradley explains what it was like when he was a teen. This is done to hopefully make you realize what you have that make life easy now. It somewhat worked on me!

Age 16 (Kinda weird but it is important) -- As a women, you get to help fix dinner for Thanksgiving and Christmas from then on. As a man, you get to hang and remove the US Flag.

Age 17 (After getting your Class Ring) -- You get to be in the picture with all your other family members and their rings! You also get a single shot of you with your ring.

Age 18 (This is the most important to me! This is also if you plan to join the military. Which I do!) -- You get a certain item from the family to carry with you as rememberence to all lost in battle and strife. I was told that I was to get the family flag and also Great Uncle General Bradley's Sword.

We always get pictures of these events and many more! We have a family set of 32 albums so far for our family members and traditions! Each member get an album to record there life...a page a year! There are also MANY more uses! All 32 are currently in use!

Age 18 is the age where you become an adult and make your beginning decisions into the rest of your life unprotected. My plans of joining the military are a big deal in the family because I will be the first women in my family to actively join the military. Not marry a military man but actually choose to join. That is why I am getting many special exceptions because I am actually making family history! My Great Aunt Maria Ross (My Great Grandpa Bradley's sister...still not sure about the names...) has written books about our family since her childhood till her death. Then her daughter has taken in the book and began recording from her time till death and now my Aunt Trudy has taken the task and has started recording in there and there is already a planned three chapters for me in her second book. I am proud to make my family....proud. War may not be write and fight neither but I am doing this for my family and to show the respect I have for the ones I lost in war and strife.
